Northeast State is a perfect school. There is no real fooling around, and people are there for a purpose which personally I love. There is not a big party culture because we do not have dorms we live in. Many people live locally with family. The teachers not only know what they're doing, but most of them have worked at Eastman, at least in my field of chemistry, and now they've retired and became teachers for fun. It is a very good school especially with a large music production program. If you are interested in a college education that you don't have to worry about all the silly little expenses and teachers you can talk to then this is a good college for you.
The class sizes at Northeast State are one of the main reasons I decided to attend this school. All of the teachers are dedicated to helping students truly understand the material and they're all easily accessible through office hours or email. The course load is manageable, the campus feels safe, and it doesn't take more than 5-10min to get from class to class across campus.
This college is pretty terrible. I transferred here from a different community college before I go to a university. This college seems like a bunch of people were bored and decided to put together a 'school'. NONE of the advisors know what they are doing, and most students have to stay for 5 or more semesters just to get all of their credits. I would not recommend going here if you are serious about your education.
I attended here a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed the campus and all the teachers that I met. Every teacher that I spoke with seemed to have a high intellect outside of the subject they taught. They are there to actually help you and not there just to teach day to day. I really love everything the campus has to offer, it opens up many opportunities for future careers close to my home. I really hope I get to go back this semester and be able to get my education I need to thrive in society.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Northeast State Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Honestly, I would tell myself to not go unless I was ready. I wanted to go to college, but a part of me really didn't want to. I stayed out of school for a while, I had a kid and did a few dumb things, but I believe it made me a better person. It put my priortities in order, and unless your priorities are in order, I would weigh your options before going. To see whats going on, we must figure out everything thats going on and what we need. Take charge of your life and don't allow anyone to walk all over you, do what you feel is comfortable and make your own choices and most importantly, do not let anyone make you do what you don't want to do.
The best thing about my school would be the smaller class sizes. Having smaller class sizes I think helps because you can get more face to face time with your teachers if you are having problems in the class. I know that I have had trouble in a couple of my classes and was able to go to them and have the opportunity to sit down and talk with them to discuss what I needed to change or what I could do to become a better student in the class.
I believe that Northeast is great school, but only for those who really want to learn. School is hard, yes, but I recomend not attending until you are ready. There are some who are really eager to learn and then there are some who aren't and the ones who drop out seem to take up space for those of who need the classes. College is a big step on one's life, I hope that the people who go to Northeast are strong willed and determined to graduate.
The thing that I most often tell frinds to urge then to attend Northeast state is that the small classroom setting are great. I get to know the other students building friendship. While get some one on one attention from the teacher when I need it. The converstations between students about teacher is often of the things they extend to help the students as aposd to conversations suggesting to avoid a teachers class.
The most frustrating thing about my school are the students that aren't there to learn. You might be suprised at how many students that are in my classes that don't seem to care about their education. They don't realize the importance of getting your degree, and some students don't respect the people who ARE there to learn. They talk and text on their phones. Its very distracting.
Most of my classmates, minus a few, are very thankful for having the opportunity to go to college and furthering their education.
Northeast State is best known for their smaller sized lecture classes. Their availabitily to talk to students more one on one then bigger universities. Also, able to provide two year classes and make it easy to transfer over to other colleges.
Anyone who believes in themselves and thinks that they can succeed at anything. Single moms, grandparents, and younger college students all attend Northeast State.
Northeast State is an escape from reality, it gives off a calm and relaxed vibe once you step onto the campus, the teachers are AMAZING and will go to lengths end to see that you succeed and will do anything in their power to see you achieve that success, and its the perfect school to start with when you have no idea what you want to do with yourself.
the class sizes work to the students advantage since they are small. the campus is easily navigated and all on one level. the website is easily navigated as well.
Some of the more popular groups are the scifi fantasy guild, the phi theta kappa honors society, and a few other clubs.
I love this school, it has prepared me for my future at a four year school so well and I would not want to go anywhere else.
The stereotype is the same as anywhere you else you would go to school.
There are not many things bad about my school. However, the one thing that bothers me the most the lack of diversity. Northeast State is primarily composed of people from around the Tri- Cities area. I believe this takes away from one of the best things about college. Meeting new people and learning to be kind and adjust to unfamiliar people is a crucial skill that needs to be developed in college. It is hard to do this in an environment such as Northeast because of the lack of people from different areas.
