The number one thing that I brag about the most is my professors. They love their job and they make sure that you are learning and not just by the books.
The fact that NEIU is not as expensive as other schools and still can get the degree that you are looking for.
When talking about Northeastern, I reflect on how their advisors have guided me from the moment I visited the campus. My first visited to meet with advisors regarding two fields of study I was interested in. The advisors referred me to the non-traditional degree department. Leary of this advice, I proceeded to the department and found it was the best decision I could have made. I am now a returning adult student majoring in Psychology. The best part is I saved money because my former credits were accepted and I did not have to repeat courses needlessly.
If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior I would apply for scholarships and have FAFSA done earlier Study hard from the begging, turn my work on time don’t be lat to classes, and talk to people who are majoring the same major as me. Get involved in activates; tutoring and clubs Be careful when choosing my classes. Have a positive attitude about everything that happened. I would have taken advantage of my grade and teachers. Keep in touch with my teachers who helped me a lot to stay on track
I would brag the learning support center because they help a lot with homework’s and they do have workshops that help the freshman student to know more about the university.
I tell them that I have really good professors for really good tuition and I feel like it's the best kept secret in this city!
The classroom size is small so you can get a chance to talk to your professor and get more help when needed.
If you don't know what you want to major in make sure you see an advisor to get ideas and advise on what classes to take. If you already know what you want to major in, try to review the course catalog so you can go in to see an advisor ready with questions.
The number one thing is how diverse the school is.
I brag most about myself to my friends about how the school is in a safe neighborhood and the tuition is not too expensive.
I tell them about how great the envirnment is. Everyone here knows what they want and are not here to mess around. They all come here to get a degree to get a specific job, they are money conscious, and really friendly. The class sizes are perfect because there are just enough people that it doesn't feel odd, but there are no crazy 500 people lecture classes. The teachers are really there to help and are experts in their fields which gives us students a very valuable resource.
I brag about not being in too much debt after school, and still getting a quality edcucation out of it.
How great the music program/department is at Northeastern. About Que Ondee Sola and U.P.R.S. and that we will be getting a Latino/a Cultural and Resource Center very soon!
