Sometimes the student body seems very large and it's unlikely that you will run into the same people again if you do not have classes or activities together.

The large, varied population makes it difficult to find close friends. It is easy to feel alone at Northeastern which can be hard for freshmen to deal with. One must really make an effort to meet new people with similar interests if they aren't lucky enough to find close friends at orientation or in their dorms.

The only thing I don't like is that there are so limited options with the meal plan.

The worst thing about Northeastern is its naivete. We are a very successful school and that deludes us into thinking we are the most successful school, pr will be soon. Northeastern's ranking in the U.S. News & World Report shot from outside the top 100 to 42, inside a decade, but the competition is much thicker now and Northeastern's relatively smaller endowment and younger traditions make it a featherweight candidate by these heightened standards of merit. Instead of letting our inevitable plateau disillusion us, we should focus on entrenching what we have--but our naivete prevents us.

The worst thing about Northeastern University is a tie between the unpredictable weather and the lack of tables on the second floor of Snell. Also be sure to keep good ties with the financial aid office.. the nicer you are the more help you get!

There is honestly nothing bad that I can say about Northeastern, I've had nothing but good experiences here and I would reccommend it to anyone.

Smokers standing outside of buildings. Northeastern is a very "green" school, I wish they would do something about the kids who stand right outside doorways and smoke cigarettes.

Some of the classes are WAY too big - I've had a class of 300. Also, the campus is large and it can be difficult to get to class on time if you have two back to back and they're far from each other (there's only 10 minutes between classes).

The worst thing about Northeastern is the price because you will be in so much debt once you graduate. It's making me re-think going to school here because of all the debt I've accumulated over the year that I've been here.

Although the extremely cold winter does pose a challenge for students who have never experienced an east-coast winter, the worst thing about Northeastern is the abundance of cliques and the elitist behavior of many of the students. Boston is certainly nowhere near as friendly and welcoming as the South or as laid-back and relaxed as the west-coast and so to students from those parts of the country, the locals can seem as cold as the weather.

The worst thing about Northeastern University is the size of the school. Being a large university in the city makes it hard to stand-out and become part of the college community. However, you are still able to develop a close group of friends and the small class sizes make it possible to work one-on-one with your professors. A smaller university enables the college to unite, but at Northeastern the outstanding athletics and large group of organizations bring the student body together in an energetic and spirited environment.

The career services center was pretty worthless to me. They only really help the business and science majors, and are completely lost about what to do with anyone looking for jobs in a creative field. When I went there for advice, the counselor actually showed me how to use google instead of giving me career suggestions. Her suggestion was to type in my interests and see if the internet would find the job for me, when what I was really asking her was what kind of career fields I should pursue based on my education.

The worst thing about this school is again the financial aspect. The school gives great financial aid but then they also do not make it clear as to how much total will have to be paid. Everything else at the school is pretty much great.

Every student attending Northeastern University has experience the 'NU Shuffle.' This refers to when a student has a problem, question, or concern and gets the run around from multiple administrators or it takes way too long to get an answer.

The worst thing about my school is that it's so big so you hae too many options at times and cannot get involved in as many activities as you'd like because there is not enought time in the day.

Northeastern University is an amazing school but if I had to choose one thing that was bad about my school it would have to be the fact that the meal plans are very expensive and that the housing is also expensive.

I wish they would let you take more credits than 16 a semester. Especially if the courses you are in are a lighter work load.

The worst thing about the school is that sometimes because of the large population, the classes are large and it might be hard to get attention in some places. Even then, the teachers are available for extra help when students need it. I like the cultural and ethnic variety of the school, but sometimes I feel that it the lecture classes are too large.

Since i'm an evening student I wish there were more administratative services open until later.

It is Boston and not Pittsburgh, which is where I'm from.

I think the worst thing about my school is that there are so many activities that I want to try and I dont have enough for all of them. For example, my freshman year I joined the physical therapy club, the kappa delta sorority, and the cheerleading team. I wanted to join more clubs but there was not enough time in my day.

The school is a big ball of red tape. Students refer to the process of running from office to office trying to get something done as the "NU Shuffle."

There isn't a lot of school spirit when it comes to sports. I wish this school had more spirit when it came to football and basketball games.

Because of the size of my school, it is sometimes hard to get individual attention for problems (academic, financial, social). This can also mean that it is easier for students to get away with things such as cheating and drinking. You often get the run around when calling different offices with questions and it can take a long time to find the answers that you are looking for. The size also impacts class size - they are very large for the most part which can have a negative impact on learning. Also the cost. :)

I think that everyone may have a different answer for this question but personally I believe that the housing at Northeastern costs way too much. Living on campus is a wonderful way to keep in touch with the college community as well as the surrounding towns, but the costs outweigh the benefits in this case. The cost of living on campus for a semester is more than what some families pay every month for a home!

There is really nothing bas one can say about Northeastern, as they do everything in their power to aid students. However Northeastern is costly even in their Fast Track Program.

It is very competitive, other than that I have no complaints.

It was too big for me. It was hard to make a space for myself in some of the groups I wanted to be a part of (activist groups) but at the same time it felt like a lot of students didn't really care about anything but satisfying themselves. Academic standards were ridiculously low.

I really don't think anything is bad about my school. If I had to select anything, I would say food.

Lack of sizeable endowment--most students face a sizeable amount of debt upon graduation.

The worst thing about this school is that the parties aren't as crazy as other typical schools.

The worst thing about my school would be the grounds in the fall and winter. The leaves are wet on the pathways and make them slippery and snow is not always promptly removed. Drainage is pretty poor too and there are many puddles around campus.

One of the worst qualities of Northeastern University, in my opinon, is that it is an open campus, with 2 public transportation systems located on campus. This can be very convienent when you want to get somewhere, but also allows anyone in the city of Boston access to our campus, our library, and our dining hall facilites. It is sometimes considered a safety issue, however our saftey officers are very good, and reliable. however because anyone can walk on campus, there are a lot of beggars, and con-artists who pester you for money.

The worst thing about Northeastern is the enormous cost. It's a great school to attend, especially because of the cooperative education work program, and Boston is an awesome city to go to school in, but it is very expensive and the average student is bound to leave with large amounts of loans.

The worst part about Northeastern is that when you need to find out something you are often shuffled around campus to find the person you really need to talk to.

You have countless advisors that tend to shuffle you around instead of getting a direct answer.

i really do not feel there is a worse thing abotu my school at all. the only thing i can complain about is the winter time and havgin to walk to class! that is definately not fun!

I think that the worst thing about my scholl is the stress of being in a bunch of classes that all have very intense class loads.

The worst thing about my school is that it is not like another college when it comes to sports and school spirit. We are in a city and campus life does not revolve around campus because there is so much to do in the surrounding areas. So it is unlike large state schools in that aspect that there are other people living around you that are not students.

Since it's located in a city, sports aren't that big of a deal here. Some people go to the games but it's definitely not a focus. Sometimes I wish there was more school spirit when it comes to our sports teams.
