My opinion of Northwest College is that it's exactly what you'd think, and that's a good thing. It's a small school in a small town. So the professors have extra time for you, everybody knows each other, and it's a tight knit community. It's awesome! I would suggest to anybody who is a little intimidated by a big university, wants to save money, or any other reasons to attend Northwest. It's a great school, and a great opportunity.
Northwest College is a small college in the town of Powell and the class size reflects it average classes is probably between 10-20 students. The professors are almost always willing to work with you to succeed but the courses still provide a fluid and valuable academic experience.
I love the atmosphere of the school. The staff and students are great, food is wonderful and campus dorms are clean and affordable. The education provided is exemplar as well. The school is wonderful at working with students about classes and provides plenty of different recreational activities to keep students engaged.
Honestly, I love it here! All the teachers and professors are easy to work with. They show a genuine interest in the students here at NWC. The class sizes are perfect, especially for someone coming from a small school or someone who may require a little extra help in class. The students and the rest of the faculty are very helpful and friendly.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Northwest College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I started out at Weber State University. I went there knowing only a few people. It was really hard not having friends and family. At the beginning, I hated it and made a plan to come back closer to home. By the time I was leaving, I was trying to change plans to stay there; I had made some great friends and didn't want to leave. If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself that I will eventually adjust so I need to stick with whatever I'm doing for more than a semester. Also, I would tell myself I needed to be more outgoing and talk to people I wanted to make friends with sooner.
My classmates are people who are energetic, friendly, and driven who enjoy life and look to make the classroom comfortable for themselves, their classmates, and the professor.
Really the only thing that I ever have a problem at this school is geting the finacil aid figured out.
After experiencing a single semester here at Northwest I have concluded that what makes this school so special is the variety of exchange students. This helps me and many other to get an insiders perspective on how other cultures operate.
Northwest College has many outreach programs that allow you to take classes either in Powell or several surrounding towns. Many of these classes are not taught online, so you get the feel of attending a class with a professor and other students to interact with. I currently take classes online and in the town of Cody so I do not have to travel to take my classes.
Northwest College is a small, friendly college. The best thing about my school is the small class sizes. Being in smaller classes means more attention from the teacher- your teacher actually knows your name and cares about you and your progress.
we have everything from Nursing programs to a rodeo team at Northwest College. There is a program of study for everyone!!
Well, being that we are in Wyoming, our rodeo team has got to be one of the most popular! Our choir is also amazing!
I am returning to Northwest Collge in the fall and I am 100& positive that with all of the support this college offers, I will be able to finally graduate college with a degree to be proud of!
Absolutely! We are all one blended family!
People who don't like large class sizes, and don't want to get lost in the crowd.
Wyoming is subject to rapid climate change in a matter of minutes. If you are a person who absolutely hates the cold weather I would recomend you do not attend Northwest College. NWC is also a very small school. This allows for a more personal attachment to the class by professors. Because of this reason, our professors give opinions and speak their minds more freely. We also have a large amount of international students. For these two reasons I feel that anyone who is impatient or closed-minded would have a hard time enjoying Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming.
Most of my freinds did not go to college because they think that it is going to be much harder than it really is but as long as you do the work that they assign you all of the teachers are there to help you as much as they can. They are willing to stay late and come in early to help.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
93% of students attending Northwest College receive some sort of financial aid. 38% were awarded federal grants. While 27% received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
