What's your overall opinion of Northwest College?

My opinion of Northwest College is that it's exactly what you'd think, and that's a good thing. It's a small school in a small town. So the professors have extra time for you, everybody knows each other, and it's a tight knit community. It's awesome! I would suggest to anybody who is a little intimidated by a big university, wants to save money, or any other reasons to attend Northwest. It's a great school, and a great opportunity.

Jenny - 05/08/2020

First off, the campus is small and the class only have a maximum of 18 student each. This allows us to have more one-on-one attention with our instructors and staff. Honestly, it feels like a family and if there is a problem, they are their to help.

Ruby - 02/04/2020

I love it! I am staying as long as I can. Student activities are so much fun and the school pride is overwhelming. The professors treat you with respect and dignity and actually care about you. It's a small school so the class sizes are small so you can always get the help you need. Powell, WY is a small town with beautiful surroundings and plenty to do. GO TRAPPERS!!!

Josiah - 01/23/2019

I currently attend Northwest college and am an online student there. I love being able to take classes anytime online through their portal, Moodle. The Northwest college professors are (mostly) an amazing group of teachers and very accessible and understanding whenever they are needed to any student. I have been to the college a couple times and I could tell that the facilities, personnel, and dorms were also nice. This college is the one to go to in Wyoming.

Northwest College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Northwest College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Northwest College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I started out at Weber State University. I went there knowing only a few people. It was really hard not having friends and family. At the beginning, I hated it and made a plan to come back closer to home. By the time I was leaving, I was trying to change plans to stay there; I had made some great friends and didn't want to leave. If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself that I will eventually adjust so I need to stick with whatever I'm doing for more than a semester. Also, I would tell myself I needed to be more outgoing and talk to people I wanted to make friends with sooner.

  6. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

Northwest College has many outreach programs that allow you to take classes either in Powell or several surrounding towns. Many of these classes are not taught online, so you get the feel of attending a class with a professor and other students to interact with. I currently take classes online and in the town of Cody so I do not have to travel to take my classes.

  13. What kind of person should not attend this school?

Wyoming is subject to rapid climate change in a matter of minutes. If you are a person who absolutely hates the cold weather I would recomend you do not attend Northwest College. NWC is also a very small school. This allows for a more personal attachment to the class by professors. Because of this reason, our professors give opinions and speak their minds more freely. We also have a large amount of international students. For these two reasons I feel that anyone who is impatient or closed-minded would have a hard time enjoying Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming.

  14. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

Most of my freinds did not go to college because they think that it is going to be much harder than it really is but as long as you do the work that they assign you all of the teachers are there to help you as much as they can. They are willing to stay late and come in early to help.
