I'll be honest Northwest Vista was not my first choice. I didn’t think that going to community college was a good idea . It felt like all the hard work that I did in school was all for nothing, but as I've come to learn when one door closes another one opens. Northwest Vista turned out to be the right choice. I had a negative connotation about community college and they completely changed it. There is a great culture at Northwest vista that you can sense right of the bat. Every single staff member wants you to succeed whether it’s an advisor or a professor. Each and everyone one of them wants you to do the best you can do.There is a plethora of tools that you can use such as writing labs, math advocacy centers, and the library is full of resources you can use. The campus itself is beautiful it has great vibes and just gives off good energy. Overall Northwest vista gives you the tools that you need to transfer over to a 4-year institution. It sets the baseline so that you can achieve your goals. I feel like if I haven’t gone to Vista I would have been lost , but thankfully to all the help from everyone I feel confident in my journey to transfer ,and i Know they can do the same for any one.

I've really enjoyed my time here. The faculty is generally engaged and committed, and the student body is bright and vibrant. There are tons of resources for extra-curricular activities, and everyone's always offering to help with anything from internships to work-study opportunities. I'm very proud to be pursuing a degree here.

It's a good campus overall and a good place for people to start when they do their first two years of college. People there are nice, campus as well, and the staff. My overall opinion of Northwest Vista is that it's a good school, I'd recommend going there if people wish to get their associates degree first.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

What I most appreciate about this college is all the resources available. The campus is big enough for the various departments to provide all the awesome resources the school offers. There is a lab for all departments where anyone can come in alone or in group to help each other understand a topic or ask a tutor to explain in depth. All labs are updated with the current topics and assignments each class is viewing so they can help all students with whatever doubt we have. There is also the library, where not only there are books to read, but also computers, printers, and my favorite spot: the study area. I went there very often to sit in a cubicle and do my homework in silence with no distractions. With all these special areas, this school provides help so all students can succeed.

Northwest Vista (NWV) College is the best decision I've made. I used to go to a university and the amount of students that can be crammed into one lecture is intense. At NWV the classes are 10x smaller compared to university. I even tried a different community college and NWV over any campuses I've been too. There is better technology and more resources. It is constantly remodeling and adding more every semester. NWV has some of the best professors I have ever taken. You can really tell that at NWV every one genuinely loves their job there and this creates a welcoming environment to learn and get involved.

Northwest Vista is a beautiful campus with lots to offer. They provide students with lots of opportunities to participate in clubs and constantly encourage students to get involved. There is easy access to shopping centers nearby and the campus is at a desired location in San Antonio. Class sizes are also ideal and the professors are encouraging and easy to talk to. I love being a part of this college and I beleieve lots of others do, as well.

The atmosphere is very welcoming, especially to incoming freshman. As a sophomore about to transfer to UTSA, Vista has helped me grow up and take responsibility for my academics and has been a great introduction to college classes. I love the school and I will never forget them for all they've done to help me.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

If you are looking for an academics-focused two-year education, then Northwest Vista College will be a good choice. The college has great professors and a studious environment. However, it has a lackluster student life Northwest Vista college is focused on learning. It has small class sizes, around twenty-five people, and dedicated professors. The small classes allow the professors the chance to get to know students and work closely with them. The professors are friendly and seem to enjoy teaching. They are willing to work with you if you are applying yourself. The professors are also very accessible outside of the classroom. They respond to emails promptly, have open office hours, and many give out their cell-phone number. However, beyond the classroom, Northwest Vista doesn't have a strong sense of community. It is a commuter school so the vast majority of students come to class and then leave. There are student organizations you can take part in, but they are few in number and small. In regards to greek life, we have a couple of honors societies. When it comes to athletics, we have some organized sports like volleyball, soccer, and basketball but they are not funded, so there isn't a lot of student interest in athletics. All around, if you are looking for a school to get your GPA up before transferring Northwest Vista is the perfect match. The professors will work with, the students are focused on academics, and there is no party scene to distract you. However, if you are interested in student life I would not recommend this school.

Northwest Vista College is a very beautiful campus that is very well put together. I feel at home when I am here learning. The professors and advisers here are very helpful and very kind. They know how to comfort the student here and be available to them and be flexible.
