It is a very academically challenging small school. The professors I have personally had classes with and have had interactions with have all been supportive and valuable resources. As an adult student finishing my education later in life, I have not only felt very welcome on campus and by my peers but also felt very supported and encouraged by the faculty and staff.
As an incoming freshman, NWOSU made the enrollment process easy. The classes are small and the teachers are very attentive. These teachers actually care if you come to class and are not here for just a paycheck. The campus is small and everything is easy to get to. They try to get each student as many scholarships as possible. Housing and meal plan are one of the cheapest in the state. So glad I chose NWOSU for my education.
My first day was Ranger Preview and immediately it felt like home, Even my mom can tell you it felt right to be here. Everyone is extremely friendly! And trust me, that's a lot coming from an anti-social person like me. During ranger preview I ended up signing up for some many different clubs, they even had an anime club!
I am extremely impressed and can’t wait to attend in the fall. I have always looked forward to this school and I honestly can’t wait to become a ranger and start working towards my degree in Psychology. I hear this college has the best psych program over any other college! I’m truly happy I got accepted and couldn’t wait to join such friendly teachers and staff in my pursuit of knowledge!
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Northwestern Oklahoma State University is 43%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Choose what is most comfortable to you. If you enjoy being close to home choose a college that you can commute back and forth to easily. I moved an hour and a half away my first year and I had a blast but I didn't realize how much I missed my family until I was gone. I decided to move twenty minutes away and I lke it a lot more plus all af the students here are country kids jsut like me. Live in the dorms atleast one year, it's so easy to meet people that way it may take a few weeks but you'll get to know most of the people on your hall eventually. I wish I would have lived in the dorms when I moved last fall, I lived in the dorms as a freshman but when I transfered schools I got my own place. It is a lot harder to meet and stay in touch with people when you don't run into them every other day.
An excellent school with a wonderful science faculty.
All of my classmates have been absolutely amazing! In every class I have been in, there are always people that want to help each other. I have had study groups in nearly every class, and I have made some great friends. I started college not knowing a single soul in the school, and now I have many friends that I spend non-school time with also!
Alcohol is the worst thing about Northwestern. I absolutely love my school, however alcohol tends to be how most people bond with each other. It is a very big part of the social life in Alva which makes it difficult for those of us who do not drink to get involved with the social activites. It is isn't forced but it is considered "the norm." I have not been hounded to drink or felt pressured to drink by others, they respect my decision and it is nice being able to hang out and give rides.
Small classes, because it allows for a little more one on one time.
Before I came to this school, I wished I would have known how great the school is. It is such a small school, like a family, yet has the resources of a larger school. As a returning student, I wish I knew this before I started because I might have started sooner!
people from large towns that don't enjoy the simple life
Bottom line, If you hate meeting new people, loved your high school or your like me and needed to go to the cheapest four year school in the state then definitely consider Northwestern Oklahoma State.
The kind of person that should attend this school is the type of person that is not affraid to be themself. A Ranger, Northwestern's mascott, should be outgoing, but at the same time have good managent skills. Rangers need good management skills so they can keep up with both their social life and more importantly their academic life. People attending Northwestern should feel at ease about college, its really not as bad as one might think it is. Northwestern is a very easy going place for easy going people.
friendly and small classes
The size of the student body is limited. I wish there were more traditional students located on the Enid campus.
Ya for the most part.
Academics are a breeze very easy classes. My high school courses where harder then my college work. Classes are very cheap and affordable.
Social life is great for your first semester but because of the small population, you end up knowing everyone in the college by second semester. Again, I feel as though i have never left high school. Social cliques are largely at play. As for those who like to get out and go places like the mall or to a good night spot, good luck because there is only one night club and the nearest mall is an hour away.
They are nice, welcoming, and ready to be friendly.
Well northwestern is advertised as any other college or university only there advertisements fall way bellow expectations as far as fun an activities go. There isnt much to do around campus.
