What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year at Norwalk Community College?

I wish I had known how to take advantage of the resources that surrounded me, such as libraries or technology centers. It would have made my first semester go a whole lot smoother. Using those resources to your advantage is probably one of the most important ways to succeed in college.

That the programs for Health Care are extremely full at this college. Though the advisors try to steer individuals who they feel don't qualify away from Health Care, hand in the application anyway if you're interested in the program! Their advisement while appropriate in some cases, can prevent capable students from pursuing goals they may feel confident of accomplishing. My own experience has been similiar, and while I don't regret being in the program I am in now, I still desire my previous goal which was Nursing. The Nursing program at Norwalk is exceptional.
