Students on campus are not only attending classes or studying, but are also are involved in other activities not directly related to their program. There are several student-sponsored groups and events where students get together for a good cause or just to do something fun. It's important to have some down time in between the hours of classes and studying. The flight deck is a nice lounge designed for students to grab a drink and enjoy a game of pool or ping pong. The most popular activities on campus are the speakers that visit Nova, the soccer team and the student planned events. Often times you will see a group of students playing frisbee hockey in the middle of the field by the library, or you will see students setting up school events for things like breast cancer awareness month. Nova offers a various amount of activities so that new students can get to know each other, and these are advertised by email and fliers in school. Every weekend the there are events going on at campus and also often times off campus as well. The library has great hours so if you like to study at night, you are welcome to do so. The entire atmosphere at Nova just invites you to make friends with other students, which can lead to romances as well. I personally began attending Nova with no friends in the area, and after one semester can say I have over twenty people I can call on a regular basis. I also have met a few core friends who have shown me different cultures and personalities, and have truly made me feel like a better person. If it weren't for attending class at Nova, I would have never made these friendships that I treasure so much.

Greek organizations like Delta Phi Epsilon and Kappa Sigma which throw big events that fundraise for charities are popular. So is Student Government Association, which I am a part of, because we throw the biggest party, Homecoming, and we also change things around campus (like extending hours of the food court, [we have a 24/7 Starbucks!], adding power outlets, and such). Because Starbucks is always open I may go at 2am while doing laundry with a good friend. I recently watched the theather production Cabaret which was awesome. Homecoming week is very eventful and includes the anual raft races, challelor tailgate, deep blue fest, and the homecoming party. This year, the week ended with a special guest the comedian Kevin Hart. Sharkapalooza which occurs at the beginning of the year exposes organizations. There are many giveaways and overall it is lots of fun. I am also part of Ablaze, a Christian ministry on campus which is very active. The Razor's Edge Scholarship Leadership Program, which I am also a member of, offers a great experience. Those of us in the program live on the same floor and are like a big family. I did not get to live in the freshman residence halls, but I have heard that it is a friendly environment where doors are left opened and everyone gets to know the others on their floor.

Student Government Association (SGA) is by far the most popular. We have so many other academic, religious, hobbies, Greek organizations and affiliations. The organization that I hold very close to me is Delta Epsilon Iota. This is my second year as the president. This organization helps and prepares students for the work field, by means of workshops about interviewing, resume, internships and so much more. We have very famous guest twice a year such as Dr. Kevorkian, Desmond Tutu, just to name the ones last year. We also have something called LIfe 101 in which famous people such as John Legend comes to talk about how his life and how he got to where he is today.
