Full of weird hippies (somewhat true, but there are definitely more hipsters), very "green" school, good musicians.

Some of the more typical stereotypes are that Oberlin is full of Hippies and Hipsters, the two ends of the social spectrum. The hippies are dirty, do drugs, when they clean they participate in gang showers, eat dirt (and the things that grow in it) and hate the government. Hipsters, on the other hand, all smoke, do drugs, don't care about anything but music (though they don't like to show that they care about that either) and hate the government. As for the school...we're supposed to be incredibly liberal and out-there.

Oberlin and its students are often thought to be extremely liberal, usually hippie types with dreadlocks, open minds and free spirits. We are thought to reside in a bit of a bubble that allows us to have illusions about what the world is really like.

I don't think the public in general has heard of us enough to have stereotypes of us. Some stereotypes we have of ourselves are: Hippie, hipster, rich white kid, activist, environmentalist, very liberal/radical, awkward.

A lot of people think of Oberlin students as hippies, weirdos, types who feel totally free to be themselves. That and, before this 'Fearless' garbage, people completely devoted to taking our learning and making it useful, making it change the world in its own way. That and apparently we smoke a lot of weed. Also, a lot of people don't know that we're not just the con. We're also pretty notoriously liberal, or progressive.

There are many; some are in direct conflict. Oberlin students are known as dirty hippies, relentless activists, spoiled rich kids, shameless hipsters.

There's nothing going on in the town of Oberlin, OH itself, but most students do a pretty good job of keeping themselves occupied on campus. Interesting people, serious academics, boring town.

Most stereotypes about Oberlin students consist the Oberlin students either playing an instrument or being a hippie. These stereotypes are well known throughout the student body and througout the nation.

Oberlin Students are all homosexual and that they are not very good with being social. Oberlin students are outkasts and the odd balls in society.
