I am very happy that my college experience started here at OSU Lima campus. I wanted to start at the main campus, but see in retrospect that the Lima campus was a good choice for me. I really like the small feel of this campus but also the knowledge that I can easily access the resources of the main campus. I really like how much cash I have saved by being able to live in an apartment just off campus. I can make my own meals when I want them and do laundry when I need it; all for MUCH less than I would pay living on campus. OSU Lima was a great choice for me!
The OSU campus in Lima is perfect if you already live near Lima, are majoring in one of the (few) majors you can finish at the campus, or want to spend way less on your first two years before transferring. There aren’t many groups to join and not much to do on campus; most of us go to class and go home. There is housing for students that is not actually through OSU but is nearby, although I found it more expensive than renting an apartment. However, the class sizes are small and the professors are kind and dedicated to their subjects and most of them are extremely understanding if life happens and you have to miss class. The campus is small and is shared with Rhodes State, but it is well-maintained and classes easy to find and walking distances aren’t far.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Ohio State University-Lima Campus is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I attended college classes as a senior to give myself a head start. Although, if I could I would tell myself to take even more college classes. I was worried about getting behind in both high school and college if I took on too much work, but I now know that I could have easily handled the course work and would be even more ahead today. I would also encourage myself to look into all my college options and apply for as many scholarships as possibe.
A majority of my classmates commute to and from college everyday, while others live in student housing.
The best thing about my school is that the staff really care. From the advisors to the profesors they all help in the matter of thier job position and want you to streve to do your best. It is a lot of work but keeps you focused on school and to anticipate what will be next.
I wish I would have known more of who the professors were.
The type of person that should attend the Lima campus of OSU is someone who likes to be independent but still close to home. It is a less stressful environment and allows for more personal achievement.
Small campus enviroment with the big campus capabilities. Small classes and interactive professors who will help you make it to graduation.
Ohio State is known for football. Most students attend the games regularly.
The thing that frustrates me most about OSU Lima is that if you don't have an 8am class its really hard to get a decent parking spot.
The Ohio State University at Lima is so unique because they care about your education and your future. They have a great staff that will sit down with you one on one and help you with any questions you have. They are great when it comes to keeping the kids involved on campus with comedians and workshops to help you with school. And even though you are not in Columbus at the main campus, you still get to do all the events as if you were at the campus: like attending football games, and stage productions.
As an art major, I really wish that OSU Lima had a degree program for art because the small class sizes would be perfect for someone interested in studio art, but who may need more attention from their professors.
The type of person that should not attend this school is someone who just wants the college experience and wants to party all the time. It is easy to get wrapped up in it and let your grades fall. A person should not attend this school if they are just going to be going through the motions of school.
I really appreciate how much soem of the advisors and teachers care about the students. There are many facets that are dedicated just to help a struggling student get back up on his feet.
