The Ohio State University- Newark campus is often accurately described as being a "home away from home." It is a small campus where everyone knows everyone, and the professors are always accessible. Most people attend this campus for only a year, but you will feel like you have gained a family during that time. Academic support is always available to help you succeed. From tutoring centers to helpful professors, your time here will be well worth it. I highly recommend attending!

I have found the Ohio State Newark Campus to be a nice start for my college education. I am currently taking College Credit Plus classes and have enjoyed my experience. So far my teachers have been into what they are teaching and most of the students have been respectful of both the teachers and others.

It's a great school to start out at! The size of the campus is so convenient, campus is really nice during the warmer seasons, and people are friendly but its hard to make friends unless you already know them. Most of the professors are pretty cool, its just like any other university just smaller. You will get the same education as OSU main campus just in a smaller setting. OSU Newark for me was the best decision with saving as much money as possible! Sometimes it can get a bit boring, but if you are looking for somewhere to focus on learning, and not partying, activities, organizations than this school is right for you.

Gabriella

I like the campus as a whole. But having grown up in Newark my whole life, it gets a bit boring and monotonous. Most people transfer to main campus by their junior year which is definitely what I am doing as Newark doesn't offer my major. Wish there was more going on. it's hard to make friends and meet new people because most of us will be out of there come a year or two.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would definitly tell myself to prepare more. Senior year of high school I kind of slacked off, I was never really a bad student but that senioritis sure did kick in. If I would have worked a little harder I could have been awarded more scholarships. I have a lot of student loans I'm going to have to pay back, I WISH I would have worked harder at raising funds for college.
