OBU is definitely the place to be if you want to be able to have one-on-one conversations with your professors. They are actively available, and I have never had one turn me down for a meeting. The classes are intellectually stimulating, and the new nursing building is absolutely gorgeous.

Katie

OBU is a very small campus, where you know everybody. The teachers are always there and ready to assist you no matter what. The classes only have about 15 people in them and the teaching is very hard. The teachers try to push you and make you study. The success center is open and it is very helpful to students that are struggling. It is expensive to go here. There are not many teams, and the sports they do have, not everybody supports them. The dorms are either really nice or really awful, there is none that are in between. The food on campus is not very good, but there are many places you can go out and eat at. They do not have frats or anything like that but they do have social clubs you can join. They are similar to frats. They also have some other clubs you can join. They also have chapel, and expect you to get 100 total throughout the year. The diversity here is very small.

Anna

An excellent school. A beautiful campus, genuine friends, professors that care about more than just assignments, and I place that God is using to change my life and make me into a better person.

Ryan

I felt that OBU was a great school to visit. Everyone was kind, and genuinely loving toward me and my family. Great school for Baptists!

Oklahoma Baptist University FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Oklahoma Baptist University?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Oklahoma Baptist University is 60%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The key thing I would stress is to get out there and meet as many people as possible. Coming to college can be scarey or intimidating and a lot of kids seem to find their core group and stick to those three or four people because they are scared to talk to people they dont know, or better yet, people who already have their own friends too. If you're nervous, its highly likely that everyone else feels the same way as you so why not be the one to break the ice? The reason this is important is because you never know who you may need down the road. The more people you get to know the better chance you have at a study group in case you have them in a class later on in the next semester. Also, make it a point to get to know your professors. They do genuinly care about your success, despite the scarey stories that they don't even care if you come to class. Don't be afraid to ask questions and send emails, that is the only way to grow and achieve more than those who don't ask questions!

I believe if one wants to attend Oklahoma Baptist University, they should be ready to work hard. The students are offered help from their professors, but the professors are particularly interested in seeing how each student "teaches" themselves the material that is covered in class. The person who attends this school must be diligent, hard-working, ready and willing to sacrifice personal time to devote more time to studying for the classes in their major, and attentive to each professor. This person should also be willing to want to grow in their relationship with Christ as well as with others.
