Since OCCC is such a small college, workstudy programs get filled up so quickly. Its such a pain to find out where you have to go for the information and how to apply online.
It is on the other side of town from where I live
The only bad thing that I could ever say about O-triple-C is the closing time of the school cafeteria. Somes students (like me) take night classes because of work, co-ed classes, or even children. This might mean taking classes back to back some nights, and if we don't eat before our 5:30 classes, we might have to wait until 8:00 or 10:30 at night to eat! The least I believe the school could do would be to open the cafe until 8. It is cheap, nice food though!
I would honestly have to say the worst thing about OCCC would be the cost of cafeteria food. Most of us are starting at the community college because we don't have the financial ability to go straight to a four-year college. So what makes them think we can afford $3 hot dogs at lunch time. The best advice here is pack a lunch!
OCCC is only a two year college. A transfer is required to obtain a four year degree.
The worst thing about my school is the Financial Services Department. The clerks that run the front desk know the bare minimum there is to know about financial aid, which leads to poor customer service. Especially, if you are just coming out of high school and have never attended a college before, this part of attending college (a VERY IMPORTANT PART) will lead to complete confusion if the person explaining it doesn't know what they're talking about.
The worst thing would be that several times when I have gone to financial aid to ask a question, I would speak to a student worker (I think) and they would not really anser my question, just give me a vague answer to hurry me along. Also, some of the staff are rude and seem like they just want to get done whether they help you or not.
The worst thing about my school is the bad professors. Most of the time, they are not helping students understand the material of the subject.. Sometimes, the students have to teach themselves the material to understand. Professors were supposed to help students understand the material. Also, the tests doesn't even go with their notes so it makes the students struggle with their tests. I believe that the bad professors are the worst thing about my school.
The worst thing about OCCC is the lack of parking spaces to accommodate the amount of students that attend each semester. Some advice for anyone who would like to attend OCCC in the future, I would advise them to get to the campus about 20 minutes early.
I can't really think of anything bad. I have had a great experience there so far.
