I hated going there. Just a year was unbearable. The admin did not care at all once we were admitted and the whole campus was filled with racism, violence, theft, and criminal activity. I was miserable going there and am physically and emotionally scarred.

Old Dominion University is a great place to start out. This is school is more Freshman-oriented, making it accessible for new incoming freshman. After your freshman year, that is when things start getting "sketchy" . As a Sophomore, Old Dominion starts becoming less accessible and it seems like they want to put you on the "back burner". I also don't like how ODU makes it a requirement to have a certain meal plan in order to live in a specific building on campus. Another thing about ODU, they are in the process to transforming the upperclassmen dorms on campus to freshman dorms. I feel that is unfair because they're pushing upperclassmen off-campus , leaving them with no choice but to scramble and find their own housing elsewhere. What makes it worse is that ODU doesn't have good quality or inexpensive housing to choose from; the good choices have very little space, so they get filled up quick. It is best to be a commuter in my opinion because ODU housing isn't worth the money at all. As far as the academics, it's okay but it could be better. As a junior or senior at ODU, this is the time to look for internships. ODU isn't "connection worthy" meaning, If you are looking for internships to build your resume, there are none close to campus at all. You have to go out of your way away from campus to get involved with internships.

I love Old Dominion University, I had the best experiences, met some of my best friends and created connections that will last a lifetime. There are many activities that are available for all students that can range from academics, sports, and even other like interests.

I have toured Old Dominion University multiple times. Each time I stepped onto the campus I felt at home. In fact, I love Old Dominion's environment so much that I have decided to attend there in the fall. Old Dominion is very diverse. You see people of all colors bonding and becoming friends. Everyone at Old Dominion is welcoming and kind. I love how there is a place for everyone to be included at Old Dominion. Old Dominion has over three hundred clubs to allow every student to become involved and to form ever lasting memories. With great athletics, food, and professors, what's not love?

My experience at Old Dominion University has shed a light on many of things that I will discuss. For example, The social life at ODU is very hard to get into because students are unfriendly and you have to know somebody. The party life is awful with the locals always coming and starting fights and parties get shut down within the first five minutes. There is absolutely no school spirit or pride unless our team wins a big game, for example, our football team beating VT. The food is getting better by more options becoming available but we only have 3 cafes and they have weird times except for Brodericks which the food is average. The off-campus housing is very poor because the houses are in such bad shape.

Old Dominion university is a good school for students who like a lot of diversity on campus. In this school if you want to achieve a goal, you'll have to get up and actually go and do it. There are many resources that many students fail to take advantage of at ODU.

Old Dominion University, in my opinion, is a diverse campus with a plethora of options at the students fingertips. You are able to build your schedule, as hefty or as light as you wish though they usually prefer you to stay under 18 credit hours as to not overload yourself; join a variety of clubs, chemistry, art, Pokemon go, or sorority/frat; eat wherever you wish as there are several off campus places to eat that are very affordable for college students and with the meal plan options you can always have a way to eat and not worry about being able to afford it instead of worrying about the studying and coursework needed to be done as most of us fret over. The teachers are always available for help during classes and labs and after, there are study groups on campus both self created and just around campus, as well as tutor sessions, in various subjects such as writing, math or chemistry, to help answer any questions one may have about the subject discussed in the class, questions about their homework, how to do certain things, and just to help the student understand the subject matter more deeply. The arts on campus are mesmerizing, there are at the least two museums the students and faculty have access to regularly and can submit their work to. All students are encouraged to participate in an art class, whether it be art history or theatre. The sports involvement on campus brings us together as one big happy family rooting for the football team to take down Virginia Tech at one of the Big Games we look forward to and enjoying basketball games in our free time. The support system on campus is one I have enjoyed and looked forward to having in a school. There are many options for students who are facing anxiety, stress and questioning their placement on campus and in college at all, as well as advisors who help you navigate college life, deadlines, classes and maintaining self care while also striving to do your best work. ODU’s campus is like none other and I am proud to be a Monarch and to be apart of the amazing community.

If one school was the only school I knew, I'd be happy knowing it was Old Dominion; the people, the parties, the intellectual discussions, the way I feel freedom to do whatever I want, having opportunities put in place for me, knowing my fellow student isn't a stranger, I enjoy the time I spent here and look forward to the rest of my college experience.
