The worst thing at my school is parking. It seems like you can never find a spot in any of the close parking lots/garages and have to walk a bit of a distance to get there. At night it can be scary as a female to wakl to my car alone.
THE WORST THING ABOUT MY SCHOOL IS THE CENTAL LOCATION. wE ARE THE ONLY SCHOOL THAT IS NOT GATED OFF AND ANYBODY CAN WALK ON OUR SCHOOL CAMPUS AND DO ANYTHING OR HURT ANYBODY. THIS PAST SEMESTERS I HAD A NUMEROUS AMOUNT OF ALERTS TO COME TO MY EMAIL STATING THAT THEIR HAD BEEN AN ACT OF CRIME AROUND THE SCHOOL; VERY DANGEROUS.
The campus is in a very unsafe part of the city. the security on campus really doesn't make me feel any safer.
The administration and advisors for this school are horrible. You are better off doing your own advising!
Weather.. its floods easily
I believe that the housing is the worst thing about my school. The housing department does not use great strategies to make sure that students who really need housing get it, like out-of-state students. I also feel that they do not help with the leasing of an apartment for those who need to get on campus housing. This makes it even harder on the students who are paying out-of-state tuition rates.
The food is not that great...and the living conditions as well as the amount of available dors could improve.
The worst thing is how people judge ODU becasue we are in the south and near a bad location we get looked down upon or there's alot of misconception. I feel very safe here and I love ODU. I wouldn't choose to go to any other VA school not UVA not VTech not JMU not GMU not VCU...only ODU.
where it's located. parking!
admin people in registration and financial aid offices
That they do not have track and field.
I hate the way this school does advising and class registration. You are forced to see your advisor every semester in order to get a hold lifted so you can register for classes. In my department there are basically only two advisors and if you don't manage to see them in their open hours before its your time to register then you probably aren't going to get any of the classes you need.
No football team.
Even though the administrative staff are friendly, sometimes they mix things up and lose important docuements. I've had some trouble getting my bill straight over the summer(2008) which was very frustrating. My advice to other students is to make sure your tuition is paid in full as soon as you can pay it.
Wish there was more of a community feeling around campus.
I consider the worst thing about my school is the city surrounding it. The school is amazing and I truly love it. However, the surrounding city isn't the best place to hang out in. There have been shootings and robberies regularly and I do not feel safe going out at night. On campus is very safe, but about three to four miles off of campus it can be a really rough area to be in alone or even with a few friends. I would highly suggest living on campus or commuting from a safer area.
gangsters that live around campus
The worst thing about this school is the lack of social activities accesible to commuting students. Most clubs meet late at night making it very inconvenient for students that commute to attend.
The worst thing about our school is how it seems to only cater to faculty and staff. There is such a ridiculous amount of stress to get an account hold fixed or housing errors fixed, or any kind of financial error fixed. It took my boyfriend two months to get the school to fix his financial aid problem. Its November now and we've been starving for 2 months because he had no refund and doesn't make a lot of money at his job. ODU starves people.
Being able to live on campus is very cutthroat, and off-campus housing is either really crappy or really expensive. Either way It's hard to find somewhere to live.
The worst thing about this school would have to be its location in the city. The reason for this is because of the recent robberies.
construction
The commute, the parking and that very rarely you have classes with the same people.
It doesn't advertise many school activities. student have to inform themselves instead of being informated by the different clubs.
Parking is a nightmare.
parking issues
The worst thing about my school is that they are currently undergoing construction on several different areas and they have a partially constructed monorail spanning campus.
