Response time to applicants
I would say the part of my school that I would say is the worst is the amount of student who live on campus. There is a very small fraction that does. The food is lacking and it is not open on the weekends.
I thoroughly enjoy Oregon Institute of Technology and all it has to offer. I do however wish that OIT would improve some of the buildings on campus. One of the buildings I attend classes in has a large hole in the ceiling that has been there since I started classes. I also wish that OIT would install some sort of filter system for water because they have found large amounts of arsenic in the water here.
Most of the electives are career oriented and there isn't a lot of "fun only" classes.
Location, it feels like we are in the middle of nowhere
The worst thing about the school is the city it is located in, but that can also be seen as a benifit in a lot of ways.
The worst thing about my school is the parking, it is hard to find a space and make it to class on time.
50 mile commute
I would have to say because of the size of the student body, there are limited classes offered at different times of the year. This generally speaking would be the humanity classes, since we are a technical school.
The worst thing about OIT is the parking. I love everying about the school but the parking is not always the best. The campus is pretty large and a student has to walk pretty far from vehicle to class which can be a bummer when its snowing or raining.
I would say the weather and location are the worst part about my school. In the winter it can be nearly impossible to commute around town and back to where I live. The town is also at least an hour and a half away from any other town. Many of the students that attend there also live far away, making the trips home limited.
The Portland campuses offer less of the 'college experience' in that they lack the range of clubs and extracurricular activities that the Klamath Falls campus does. Also, the time line for payment and refunds for classes is pretty narrow (must pay within the first week of class and percent refundable drops per day of the second week).
It is really competative. Its really hard to get into the programs you want. The classes in general are really hard
I think the worst thing about OIT would be the location. In the winter it snows TOO much and we would still have school. Klamath Falls is a small town and there isnt much do to here but study or have get -to-gethers.
Lack of variety of things to do outside school.
not enough parking
