Oregon State University Top Questions

Why did you decide to go to this school?

Meaghan

My personal reason for going to OSU was because they have an amazing pre-vet program, as well as a small, personal veterinary school. There are a lot of opportunities in the city as well as on campus for pre-vet students to get involved in a variety of ways with different types of animals, which is recommended for better chances of getting into vet school.

I decided to go to OSU because I wanted a change from back home. I wanted something new and different. i wanted to be away from home and be independent. I wanted to try new things, have new experiences, and meet new people.

I selected Oregon State because of the amazing campus life, also due to the proximity to home. Oregon State has many things the offer. The best part is that is located in the Pacific Northwest. There are many things to do that are a short drive away. Also Corvallis is an awesome little college town. The students, faculty, and residents are all welcoming and are there for support whenever you need them.

I didn't have to think about it too much. The first time I visited Oregon State University, I knew I loved it. I loved the campus, the city, the small college-town feeling, everything. My options were Portland State University, University of Oregon, and Oregon State University. Neither of the two formers had the beautiful campus, the incredible academics, or the college-town feel that I had wanted in my college experience. Although, I believe that in the end, I chose Oregon State because of their athletics. I knew I was going to be working around the athletics, since that is what I want to do for a career, and PSU doesn't have strong athletics; while U of O's athletics seem to have a bad reputation. So I guess ultimately, it was the athletics, but everything else about the school helped to make my decision an easy one.
