If I was allowed to go back in time and give myself advice is to seriously pay attention to the help the schools' offer. In a big state university, it is very easy for students to fail their first semester. College is not like high school, therefore, the students need to seriously pay attention to their classes and make sure all their work is handed in on time. If the student has a hard time, they must seek help. It is simply impossible for students to think they can learn things on their own. Also, living on campus, is possible I recommend. It is a great way to learn where everything in the school is, to traveling around campus becomes easier.
