They offered online classes. The school is in San Antonio but I lived in Houston.
Our Lady of the Lake University gave me the confidence to ask for assistance. The staff and professors were helpful, understanding and at the same time challenged you to learn. The professors at OLLU gave you the confidence to learn more and challenge yourself to excel. I learned so much from their beleifs in education and community. The belief in community is still very much ingrained in my life today. It is the main reason I stay employed with first a community college and then a private University to pay it forward to the generations that follow.
The best thing about OLLU was that I was free to grow in my field and in my personal creativity. I never felt like my professors were trying to hold me back. They encourage independent thinking - I did not realize I had taken this for granted until I began graduate school - boy, do I miss college! It was a gateway, not a gauntlet and I'm all for an institution that wants to open doors, not close them.
The best thing about my school is the small class sizes. There are seriously no more than 25 students in a class, and if there are more than 25, it's usually an introductory class. This allows for the professor to get to know their students better and help them more.
The small community was teh best thing . It helped teh school feel like a family.
student to teacher ratio. One on one time
the fact that it is a small college it allows the students to have a personal conection with the teachers in their majors...
