There is no prevalent "most popular" activity on campus. It all really depends on what you personally like to do, as there are thriving student groups doing just about everything. We have really strong sports teams, an amazing music program, welcoming drama department, and countless clubs and organizations. I am a member of the University Chorale, a mixed choir of about 50 students. This year our choir toured the state of Texas during the month of January. We performed in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas, with a few stops in places like Gruene along the way. It was a great experience and I developed strong friendships with fellow members of all years and majors. As far as campus community goes, the residence halls are the place to be. This is easy enough, as students are required to live either here or with their parents until they are twenty or have junior status. I met the bulk of my closest friends in my residence hall my Freshman year, as it's common practice to leave doors open and most of the halls have large open lounges conducive to hanging out. Whatever you do, don't commit Wingcest! Our dorms aren't very big and you're bound to awkwardly run into them on more than a few occasions. There are plenty of other places to meet someone (I met my boyfriend in Writing 101, a class required your Freshman year). Parties are a great way to meet people if you're into that thing, and if you're not, no worries. It's there if you want it, and PLU is a dry campus so it's not around if you don't. (For you pro-alcohol types, dry campus means no real cops. So it's good for you too when you get caught). As far as what to do on a Saturday night, trips to Seattle are very common, but Tacoma nightlife can be super fun too. There are also typically campus events like dances and game nights going on, but no one ever judged anyone for having a movie night in their dorm room with some friends either.
