Following the merger with UB, Paier's only strengths lie in what they've adopted from UB. Professors are apt and more than qualified, however the college experience is bogged down by inadequacies and lack of communication on the part of those in charge.
Ilove my school for its size and togetherness. A small school is what I look for in colleges because i feel as if they're there for the students. The teachers always have time for the students and with a smaller classroom you'll always get the help you need. All the students come together as one for everythign. no one makes you feel left out. there's no cliques and little to no drama.
There are so many misconceptions about art school, people are so quick to say its easy and all you need is a pencil and paper but that's so incorrect. My course load is literally the amount of an engineering school course load. The school is a smaller school so they pretty much give you your classes and schedules for you. We have to be very comfortable and we have to know how to use all of the adobe suite applications such as, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign . Transferring to a smaller school was definitely a change for me considering I was used to larger size schools but there are major advantages to being at a smaller facility such as one on one help and because of that one on one help and dealing with my chronic migraines, my professors work with me and my circumstances. I think my school was a great fit for me definitely.

As I described earlier my teachers are a huge inspiration. Even if your artwork is not the best when you first arrive at paier, chances are by your second year after taking the foundation courses you'll come out as a better artist then you were when you first arrived no doubt, thats what happened to me. Paier has given me more confidence in myself and the people who surround me give me support and encouragement to push forward even when im stuck. That's something I value because in a big school you don't always get that personalized attention, and for me that's important because sometimes I need that extra push. In my first year I've learned so much and developed more as an artist and to me progress is everything because it just encourages me to continue the good work. My college experience at Paier has been so motivating and I cannot wait to go back and learn more and graduate with a graphic design degree and hopefully someday with the help of my refrences at Paier I will succeed and live a good life, because of the education I recieved at Paier.
My classmates are an inspiration to me, we're all artists and have that in common. When it comes to needing help or advice on a piece im working on my classmates are the first ones there to give me that little boost to keep me focused and my creative juices flowing.. It's also cool because when one of us comes up with a good idea a lot of the time their idea will bounce off and give the whole classroom a whole new approach to whatever they're working on. Everyone is very supportive of eachother!
I love that my school is mainly focused on art, and with small classes so professors are more attentive. I also love that it?s in a prime location within a city, and I have access to public transportations and stores that meet all of my needs.
I wish I had more knowledge of how their tutorial system worked. I also wish I had known if they had more scholarships for students whose parents made too much money for financial aid prior to my entry into this school.
My school is the most fun place to be! The classes are small so you get to know your teachers and talk to them one on one and that helps a lot when you're struggling. The teachers are awesome and very knowledgeable because they are professionals in the fields that they are teaching so they teach us as well as tell us how it is in the real world as an artist. There's a lot more freedom at this school and its so small its almost got a cozy feel to it. I love it, very good choice!
