I am transferring to Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences. The academic and advising team help me have a smooth transition into the college. Everyone made me feel like home. The online videos showed me step by step on how to navigate their website from Blackboard to email. It is user friendly. Financial aid team is helping me with all of my documentations. I am so Blessed/Grateful to have a supportive team that will make sure I will succeed as a Respiratory Therapy Technician/Assistant.

I love this college. The class sizes are small and allow easy communication and 1 to 1 time with professors. There is a skills lab which is extremely helpful to help with practices and to get more comfortable. The campus is easily accessible and I feel safe when entering the building. I am very glad that I applied to this school.

Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences is a wonderful school with state-of-the-art equipment and a passion for teaching the next generation of nurses. The professors are wonderful and faculty is always available to help you if you happen to need it.

I liked what I saw when I visited the campus and their opportunities they offer. Also, their on-campus and off-campus housing units are very nice and clean. I enjoy the set up of the campus, and I look forward to applying here.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

    I have learned a whole new world of information. Begining my journey with re-learning familiar concepts in math and english, to straining to implement new processes also. Then as the prerequisites ended, then degree required classes set in. Anatomy and phisiology were eye-openers, to say least, about what the human body consists of, how it functions, and everything that is involved. I enjoyed these classes more than I had anticipated. Microbiology was another course that blew my mind, of course in a good way. The human body is complex and I truly understand why as a health professional we are required to know everything involved before we are even able to begin the actual studies of our professions. I have also enjoyed immensly the friendships, memories, and experiences I have been through. Not to mention, the not so good times, made me stronger as a student and individual. Continuing to look ahead, I can only grow more anxious by the day of what my clinical rotation will hold in the near future. College has made me realize how much better I can be, want to be, will be, and how much more I can build upon.

  3. What kind of person should attend this school?

    The other person I can think of that wouldn't recieve benefit from Lancaster General College would be someone who is not dedicated to their schoolwork and studies. Also if they are undecided, there are limited selections of classes available. If they wish to pursue a career not in health sciences or the medical field, they would be better off at a different school.

  4. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

    One thing that frustrated me in my nursing classes is that there are about 10 instructors. I know that they need to have this many but I would at times hear one thing from one instructor and a different thing from another instructor. I often had to go to the head instructor and ask how it actually was. It was not a huge issue, just became frustrating at times.

    Eager to learn. Nursing is a career that is not taken lightly. Student ages vary from directly out of high school to mid-age changing careers. Very diverse class!

  7. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

    My school is unique in that it 1) allows you to get your associates degree in nursing (most programs only do bachelors) and then you can move on and get your bachelors later. This is very nice because you can work and have your RN but still work towards a bachelors. 2) my school has each class 1 or 2 times week instead of having each class each day you have 2-3 hr lectures once a week. This is nice because you be taking 4 classes and only have to go 4 days out of the week.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
