I wish someone would have told me how important it was to get into on campus activities and campus life. I didn't start volunteering and joining clubs until my sophomore year and I feel like I have missed so much. It helps other people just as much as it adds to your resume!
I learned a lot about PCT before being accepted. The two things that I wish I had known about were housing opportunities and options and regarding the surrounding community. As a culinary major, I was disappointed that I did not have a stove or oven in my on campus apartment. I understand the reason behind it but wish there were exceptions for the Culinary Arts majors. The city of Williamsport is a complex one. The school is a gated one as the surrounding neighborhoods are not safe. Coming from a small town, this is a difficult concept to grasp.
That I couldn't get advanced placement for my masters in social work because my degree is in human services, not social work.
Were I able to go back in time to my senior year of high school, I would stress the importance of furthuring my education, and doing so in the near future rather than waiting 28 years. I would express how much more difficult going to college would be at age 48, with a husband and four children and a 30 hour a week job. To this I would add that getting an education early would afford me much better avenues in the job market rather than continuing on a path I chose that rarely led to promotions or better pay.
I wish that i would have known the guy to girl ratio.. not good for us guys. I wish i would have known the amount of rednecks and deisel trucks that roam around campus. and last but not least, I wish that i would have known that there is no place to eat after 9 o'clock.
that there is not that mean people that stay here on the weekends
That there was so many Diesel Trucks flying around campus. No Women!
dont no
How nothing ever really goes and that the girl to guy ratio favors the female side of things.
I wish I had known how to do accounting
I wish i knew how poor the surrounding area was. it looks nice at first glance but after week one, the poverty becomes screamingly obvious. its quite a terrible area with shady police. Wish i knew how unsafe it feels at night before chosing this school.
I wish I had at least looked at some other schools. I also wish that although it has improved recently, the girl to guy ratio.
