Someone who likes big schools and big parties should not attend this small school. Also, anyone who doesn't like an urban city environment should not attend this school.
Anyone that doesn't like the city should not come here. We are a loud, urban campus that is always alive and doing something. Also anyone that is a homophobic should probably not attend this school, as we welcome all lifestyles. We are known for our performing arts program, but our academics are just as good. Anyone that is a big college sports fan should not come here, as our athletic programs are not great.
The kind of person that shouldn't attend school would be the person that thinks it's all about partying and going out and getting drunk and high every night, and the people that don't care and don't show up to any of their classes. I am working very hard to be here and I hate to see people throwing it all away for something as laziness or partying.
This school is wonderful for everyone who wants to apply. That being said, if you're homophobic, you probably shouldn't come. This school is a dance school, first and foremost. Roughl y 60{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the men here are gay.
Point Park is located in a city, and there are of course lots a people , I would say if you are not big on cities, and do not like a lot of people around Point Park is not for you. However I can say that they offer a variety of courses and it is hard to say who shouldn't consider this school because it is ultimately the applicants choice.
My school is a diverse school. If you don't enjoy being around people from different backgrounds, and not just race, you shouldn't attend this school. This school does its best to recognize the other departments in this school, such as the science department, but it is known best for its art program, so if you want more recognition in something other than what this school emphasizes on, you shouldn't attend this school. For instance, A pre-med/ biology student may not feel this is the right school choice.
An extremely conservative business person would not have much fun at this school. Nor an extreme athlete wanting to get into professional sports; we don't offer much.
A football player interested in playing professional football because we do not have a football team.
A very close-minded person
Someone who doesn't want to be challenged, that wants life to work itself out.
Someone that needs to be engaged my thier enviroment. Someone how needs entertainment to come to them.
ARTISTS!!!!!!! Point Park is by far the best school for anyone who wishes to be thrown into a world of performing arts. The dance program offers more concentrations than anyother program in the country; ballet, modern, jazz, pedagogy, choreography in either a BA or BFA. The musical theater program is equally as talented with performance opportunities, and many times the two programs overlap. The academics are kept minimal and most of them do help with your given major so they don't feel like a waste of money.
The best I know about that school every one is welcome. Discrimination is not really the basis of that school.
I think Point Park is a very open school. They would welcome most any type of person into the university as would the students who attend. Because of this liberal approach though, some ultra conservative students might feel out of place and be uncomfortable.
I see people from all walks of life at this school, which is refreshing. There isn't a person out there that couldn't fit in here. There are all races, ages, religions and sexual orientations. I was raised in a predominantly white community and found it very interesting to befriend people of different races than my own. I have learned a lot from fellow students from different cultural backgrounds that I would never have been exposed to had I not attended this school. It was a bonus to my education!
