Describe the dorms.

.

The dorms at Purdue are large usually brick buildings. The interiors of them are fairly well maintained and inviting. I'd recommend that all first year students live at least one year in the dorms at Purdue. The dorms offer in house computer laboratories, large lobbies to meet with others and relax or study, and the convenience of being on campus at all times.

The food is great in the dorms! Seriously. I lived in the dorms my first year, got an apartment, and then went back to the dorms. And the biggest perk of the dorms is simplicity. You don't have monthly bills and you don't have to cook! The dorms are great because 1) You get a roommate and possible new friend 3) One time fee that covers your shelter, food, internet, everything -- NO BILLS 4) Close to campus and you feel apart of the Purdue community 5) You can walk to class. Of course all dorms have their cons 1) Small living space 2) Limited privacy. You can have a room all to yourself, but that costs LOTS more and it's not worth it -- especially if you're a freshmen. Give it a shot, who knows you may meet your new best friend! If I were to recommend a dorm in particular I would say Windsor. I've lived in Owen, Hillenbrand, and Windsor. Windsor is a reasonably priced dorm. It has beautiful architecture. It's the only all girl dorm. It has a dining court located inside so you don't have to walk outside to eat, which not all the dorms have this perk. Windsor dining court is known for it's vegetarian food, but accommodates all types of eaters. And best of all, Windsor has the most lounging space. When you need a private moment away from your roommate you can find a cozy spot to relax in, take a phone call, do homework, whatever. When I lived in Hillenbrand and Owen it was more difficult to find privacy.
