Queens is a very beautiful, diverse school. Many of our students are athletes, and almost all of them are very cliquey. Because this is such a small school, it is very hard to make friends as most people already have their groups established. Everyone here is very reserved, mostly everyone spends time in their room on weekends or goes home. Not much to do outside the classroom. If you're a very social person or an athlete, come here. If not, it will be significantly harder for you to find things to do outside of class.
I think that Queens is a great, close knit school.
The school may be small, but the resources and overall atmosphere is amazing. Students know what they are here for (education) and plan accordingly. Campus recreational activities and outside activities are also amazing because the school is located 5 minutes from Uptown Charlotte, which is an amazing city.
I love the school and the area, Myers Park is an amazing location. Queens has a lot of athletes on campus, we are a DII school with a great athletic program. Students are from all over the country and I've made some incredible friends on and off the lacrosse field.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Queens University of Charlotte is 82%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Now that you are a senior, you need to know some things about college. First of all, leaving your parents will be really hard. You've been with them for 18 years and you love them deeply, and you've never lived by yourself. It's going to be tough for a little while, but after a couple of weeks, it gets a lot better. You will make tons of new friends from all over the world and you will be involved in so many great things.
But on the serious side, there will be a lot of pressures. Partying happens, but you just have to make the right choices about alcohol and drugs. It's not going to be easy, but in the long run, you will be a better person for it.
While the fun things are happening, you also still have to succeed in your classes. You're in school for an education and to better your life and you don't want to ruin it.
But overall, college is a fun four years and you will make so many memories. Remember to live life to its fullest advantage.
See ya next year.
Financial aid. They provide it but it's very hard to come by. And they want to be more diverse, but they don't offer any miniority scholarships.
Queens University of Charlotte is a great academic school, there´s something missing, probably the feeling of college experience is missing, but still is a great insttution.
Great teachers, great community, great opportunities.
The best thing about my school is the teacher to student ration, because it allows more individual focused learning/teaching.
how much money i wasn't going to get.
Well I arrived o the school to play tennis, but the tennis program they have it´s just not as good as I thought it wuld be. The school is very small but with an excellent location in a major city, but still I fill I don´t get the full "college-student" experience, in which was one of my major points which I decided of attendng a college in the US.
They are smart and determined.
someone who likes a big party school.
a person who likes small classes, a small campus, and wants to have a good job in the future.
When I tell my friends about Queens, I always brag about how nice the people are. You can be having the worst day and there is always someone there who can cheer you up. And even if you're just walking to class, the people you pass will always smile and say "hi" to you even if they don't know you. The campus is so small though that even if you don't know someone personally, you've at least seen them around before. The campus has "southern hospitality" going for it.
Queen's University is unique because it is a small school so there is individualized attention for students. You are able to build a personal relationship with the professors. The classroom size is small compared to larger schools and will enable better communication and class involvement. You are nestled in a beautiful neighborhood with a quiet campus for studying.
I have yet to start, but so far the professors seem to know all of their students and are always available to speak to. The academics are extremely rigorous, especially as an honors student, but it's manageable as long as you're willing to manage it.
There is Greek life at Queens, but they don't dominate the school. Actually, the highest percentage of achievers at the school are Greeks. There is a large amount of volunteering done on campus and off in the community that is included in the experience. The school is huge on Music Therapy, and while there isn't a football team, all the other sports dominate and usually draw a crowd to show the vast amount of school spirit.
There is also the fact that the vast majority of students (over 90%) study abroad.
The school is in the richest neighborhood in Charlotte, so the stereotype is that there are only snobby rich kids attending. Which is extremely incorrect. The school is way more diverse than one would think.
