What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I would have applied for more scholarships to help with the finance issue because being a small private school, it is expensive. You can not put a price tag on education but the financial burden is real. With my adhd disability I feel I will thrive at the Queen's smaller classroom environment however, if I could have gotten more financial assistance it would have lessened the financial burden.

I wish I had known earlier what I wanted to study. As a non-traditional student, I did not enter college directly after highschool. After highschool, I did not know what career path I wanted to pursue, so I entered the workforce. As I learned more about myself and my interests, I started looking for a school that would be able to provide the class size and the bonds that I longed for in a college experience. Had I known what I wanted earlier in life, I think I would now be a lot happier with myself and my career.

Go into this school with an open mind. If you can't find the group that you think that you fit into, don't get discouraged. It may seem hard, but it is possible to find a group if you try hard enough. Take advantage of the small classes and professors that are willing to help you.
