Quinnipiac University Top Questions

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Andy

Theres not much around Qu which means nothing to do. They have a huge housing shortage and give no financial aid. There also aren't many food options.

Jessica

There are some parking issues on campus - not enough people carpool, in my opinion. People complain about the food, too, but I've never had a problem with it. I haven't noticed any huge drug issues, it seems like people here mostly drink and go to New Haven to go to the clubs. Overall I've had a pretty good experience here - classes aren't too big, and I've really enjoyed them. I wish I'd gotten more aid from Quinnipiac, but when I was coming in they wouldn't give aid for just good SAT scores, I needed a higher GPA on top of good SATs. My work-study almost ran out this semester, and there was a possibility I wouldn't have been able to get any more from the university.

Madison

Perfect size, beautiful scenery, great instructors Would like to not have to walk so far from parking lot to class. Usually about ten minutes. Really sucks when it is cold, windy, and raining. Also, drainage is not great. At times it is like walking through a river on the cobblestone. Only ate in th cafe once...not good. Labs need more equiptment. I pay a lot of money to have to share two scales with the entire class. Each group should have their own.

christina

I would say the size of Quinnipiac is just right. It is small enough that you know a lot of people in your classes, and walking down dorm road, but big enough that you can get away from seeing the same people if you want to. One thing I would change about Quinnipiac and that is a big student complaint is the way that administration allots funds & scholarship money. A lot of money is given to things that could be otherwise well spent-- facilities, ground maintenance, sports teams, new buildings, etc. More money should be given for academics and financial aid. When I tell people I go to Quinnipiac, they say, "Oh, is that the place that does all the polls?" Or they look at me like they are wondering if I have a lot of money. Quinnipiac has a huge night scene if you go out to New Haven- there a tons of clubs, bars, and good restaraunts to explore on the weekends.

Brett

Unless you get off campus, your life will be the same for all four years. Quinnipiac tries to keep their students on campus where they can patrol residence halls like the FBI. The administration is on a complete power trip and it seems as if they go out of their way to inconvenience students. The students at Quinnipiac are all the same and make for a very boring student body. The campus life is dead as a party consists of 9 people playing beer pong with music that is way too loud. No one has school pride because it seems everyone is against the administration that searches for ways to get students in trouble. It is more like a small boarding school than a university.

Bethany

Quinnipiac in general is a good school. I think it's just the right size. Some drawbacks are: unreliable shuttles, cramped dorms, and not much to do within walking distance. There is a lot to do in New Haven, though, which is only shuttle away. There's some school pride but not a whole lot. A lot of kids wear college tshirts for other colleges, actually. I find most of the teachers to be pretty good. The biggest drawback of QU is the required classes QU 101 201 and 301.

Justin

Quinnipiac University: biggest upside = potential. Give this school a few years and it's going to surprise people.

Alex

quinnipiac is the right size. it's not far to get to class.

Owen

I like QU because it has a great health sciences program. Since i am a PT major it really focuses on what i wanna do when i graduate. I also love the campus. it is one of the prettiest campuses i've ever been on and this may not seem like a huge factor, but i really think it is. the size of the school is perfect for me because you can walk around campus and see both people you know and dont know. i didnt want a campus where i never ran into anyone that i knew. there is a lot of stuff to do. the shuttles run in and out of hamden every day every hour and new haven is really fun on the weekends. there are always sports going on on campus that you can watch or participate in and climbing the sleeping giant is fun too!

Jessica

Quinnipiac is a beautiful and somewhat small campus. There are a lot more girls then boys here and we don't have a football team. The New Haven area that we go into on weekends is a lot of fun. Our hockey team is extremely good. That is about it.

Gene

The campus is beautiful, and you have to give Quinnipiac that. I feel that Quinnipiac is really attractive looking on the surface, but their are many huge problems make Quinnipiac awful. just to name a few, the homogenous student body, the ignorant student body, the dysfunction of the administration on just about all levels, etc

Kyle

The campus is gorgeous which is always a plus. When it's nice out there are a ton of people on the quad so its a good place to hang out. Campus life is also a lot of fun because everyone is so close and there is always some part going on during the weekend. When I say I go to QU, people somehow know someone who has gone there. They also see it as a great school.

Dylan

Quinnpiac is truly a great school. I love the panoramic setting and it is very convenient to get to. It's close to major highways. The school is really wired. Everything is automated and it all works well. The technology infrastructure is well thought out and support is easy to find if you ever have questions. The experience I would never forget is perhaps, the first time I enrolled for a class. I got all the support I needed without asking. The staff was very supportive and the first day, the professor brought us coffee and bagels. She even made sure she decaff, which was nice. Since I am a grad student, I spend most of my time off campus and attend on weekends. It's always such a pleasure when I visit.

leis

Quinnipiac is a great school, it is my perfect size for a school and I think the overall perception by most is that it is a well respected school and the image is held a high level. Quinnipiac served a perfect fit for me, I was able to complete my major with adequate courses, etc. and I met some of my lifelong friends at quinnipiac.

Royce

love it here

Sara

The best thing about Quinnipiac is definitely the campus. Sleeping Giant is right across the school so anywhere you stand you can see the mountain. The school is alway kept clean and when its nice outside everyone hangs out on the quad with their towels and frisbees. It's such a nice scene. If I had to change one thing about the school it would have to be the price for food on campus. They only give us 950 on our meal plan and that diminishes very quickly because food is so expensive in the cafe and the rat. The school size is just right, not too big that the amount of people is overwhelming and not too small that everyone knows everyones business. The first thing people say when I say I go to Quinnipiac is "Qunniwhat?" then they go "Oh wow your parents must cry when they get the tuition". I always laugh it off because I know that tuition is very expensive here, but it is expensive at any good school you attend. Quinnipiac's administration is excellent. I can't exactly say that the courseload is easy like it was in high school but coming here I expected a lot of work from my professors and I knew that they would be expecting a lot out us. Some professors may go through the material fast but that's what the learning center is for. I'm not quite sure what the most recent controversy that took place here but I know that a lot of things regard race. Quinnipiac does so much to try and have all students respect each other and have everyone feel comfortable but there have been several incidents with discrimatory racial remarks made toward some students. There is school spirit here but I wish there was more. I go to the basketball games and there's hardly anyone there. Coming from a high school that had so much school spirit to here is a little disappointing.

Shannon

The biggest controversy on campus was the lack of may weekend. I dont think the whole campus should be punished for one person's mistake. I understand a girl died during the festivities but the university is automattically saying the whole campus will make bad decisions and will not be able to handle it anymore. I think they should bring it back. it is a chance for students to relax and get their minds off of school work before we have to buckle down for finals.

Danielle

quinnipiac is a beautiful school. they offer a lot of things to do whether you are a partier or not and they make the shuttle arrangments from here to new haven really accessible. a really nice sports arena was just built, which makes hockey and basketball games really fun to go to in the winter months. the school is just right for size, about 5,500 students but the one thing that is overcrowded is the cafe, which is being done over.

Gene

QU is in a great location on a very beautiful campus. We're only 1.5 hours from NYC, minutes from New Haven, and 2 hours from Boston. Overall school pride is fairly low, and interest in sports is hit or miss ... our hockey games are the most talked about and well-attended events on campus all year. Most of your time will be spent partying in Village or Mountainview, and if you don't like to party, this really is not the place for you. The same holds true if you want diversity; a very small percentage of the population is minority. There's a lot of hubbub on campus recently about the school newspaper publishing derogatory statements about the administration, and both the students and administration are currently at odds with each other. There is also a sense of "disconnect" between students and the administration.

Tate

The housing stinks. What school still has juniors living in forced triples? quinnipiac does of course and doesn't offer any financial compensation. the library is too small and is impossible to find a seat during finals or midterms. the cafeteria is too small, avoid it during meal times.

Ashley

Quinnipiac has the most beautiful campus I have ever seen. I love to see kids playing outside in the quad. The campus is very modern and well kept. I wish there was more diversity, but I like the size of it(small-medium). There is always something to do, and it is nice to have the city of New Haven so close by. It is the perfect campus for me.

Andy

Quinnipiac has a lot that could be improved. There is no "college town," and there is never anything to do. One can go to the clubs in New Haven, but you need a fake i.d., and it gets old very fast as every weekend is spent at the same place" Hula Hanks on Thursday, and Toad's on Saturday. There is next to no partying on campus, as it's all dorms and apartment style living, so there's no room for a big party. Security is very strict too and it would be hard to avoid getting caught. There are no houses on campus for parties, so you have to go to off campus parties. The are no fraternity parties either, as the greek life here is a joke, and they do not even have houses together. There is no school pride, and no one attends sports games. The only sport that generates some fans is men's hockey, but people just go to the games as an excuse to be publically drunk. The housing system is terrible, as there is a lottery that is said to be determined by credits, but there are juniors that get the big shaft while sophomores have housing. Quinnipiac also has a bad rep in the area, as Yale students are quick to coin QU girls as "Quick in the sack Quinnipiac." Quinnipiac also has a very low return rate, as many people hate it. Only about 805 of students return after their freshman year. With QU, there are no shades of gray: either you love it or you hate it.

Nicole

Quinnipiac has a gorgeous campus. On our "Remember When" senior t-shirts one of the things on there said "remember when you thought you couldnt walk on the grass". That's how nice everything looks. The freshman dorms were probably the most horrible thing ever created, the school is just trying to cram as many student as possible in rooms, and it is overflowing into upperclassman dorms as well. QU is growing by the year and at scary numbers. Parking is also a mess, especially since in my junior year they were building more dorms to fit even more people. They definitely don't have enough parking for the students they have now, so I really don't know what they were thinking. A lot of rumors are going around that QU is in debt, because of the new sports complex they built and that no banks will give them any money, but I doubt that is true with everyone's tuition coming in. Hamden natives are not a big fan of Quinnipiac. They don't like that we're right next to Sleeping Giant Mountain (which is beautiful and everyone should climb it). They think we ruined their nature, and are too commercial, but we bring a lot of positives to the town that they don't realize. Revenue alone from student spending money in town, and delis and restaraunt taking the "Q Card" has kids spending like crazy, so how is that a negative? The biggest controversay would be May Weekend, its like every other schools Spring Weekend. I'm pretty sure every year at least one girl (usually freshman) is raped or sexually assaulted, and the past two years someone has died. I think to solve this problem May Weekend should have been upperclassmen only, like juniors and seniors instead of open campus wide. It's usually the younger students who get themselves hurt or in the most trouble. Instead, my senior year (of course) May Weekend was cancelled completely. It still was fun though with local bars still throwing May Weekend parties, and we made our own May Weekend through huge house parties (checking ID's of course). I think that students at school have a lot of school pride. We have these couple of guys who literally paint their bodies in yellow and blue and go to every single game for every single sport. And walking to class you'll see at least 5 or 6 students are wearing QU attire.

Rebecca

I would diversify the campus. Lower the outrageous meal plan prices. Get "May Weekend" back. Make it more like a college then stepping right back into high-school. It would be nice if it was closer to New Haven because the shuttle system is awful. More parking for students. Parking on campus is tight for students, however let the resident students park on campus during the weekends. The library is way too noisy. MORE SCHOOL SPIRIT. Let the school paper, the chronicle, have say in whatever they want, it's a newspaper let them speak their minds and communicate to the student body issues that is bothering everyone. The administration needs to understand that we are adults and not children. May Weekend was the best student event that is offered at QU, they need to revamp their methods and bring it back. It's not only about drinking, the students come together and make new friends and have fun.

Rachel

The school is a very nice size. Classes are smaller so you get a one on one learning experience from professors. When I tell people I go to Quinnipiac, the response is very good. People know Quinnipiac as a very good school. I haven't had the best luck with professors. The administration isn't the best. The biggest controversy on campus was a racial slur written on the walls of an African American student. There is not a lot of school pride. There is no football team.

Corinne

Most frequent student complaints are parking and housing. Parking at Quinnipiac is miserable. There are not enough spaces for the students and there is not enough housing for the students.

Regina

Good size, nice dorms, lots of local bars and new haven bars, lots of school pride, 'unofficial' may weekend is the best!! Students don't have much to complain about other than parking

Brett

Quinnipiac has a great communications program, especially for TV. It also has a great PT and Health Sciences school. Drama and Law here are kind of a joke. The school is becoming more of a film school than ever and radio is booming. It's a good school for sure and has a great campus, but they charge about $40,000 per year and increasing and they spend most of that money on trying to attract more people to come. This school just became D1 last year because they keep accepting more and more people and fail to give them the garaunteed housing.

Mike

Quinnipiac has come a longggggg way in the past ten years or so. It started out as a small college and has turned into a prestigious university with a $32 million sports center for their 21 Division I teams. Quinnipiac has no problem spending money for their students. If you go to Quinnipiac, you'll learn to see that you become spoiled by Quinnipiac just like ou would your parents. Great concerts and events. The campus at Quinnipiac is one of the nicest you will ever see. Everything is brand new and up to date. They always make sure everything looks perfect. The students understand this too, which is why you'll never see anyone littering.

Steven

Quinnipiac is a great school for getting one on one with your teachers. Class sizeses are small, which gives allows every student to ask questions, or get extra help out of class. On the down side of having such a small school there is limited things to do on the weekends unless you want to shell out big money in New Haven. On an average weekend I would guess that i spend around 60 to 80 dollars depending if i go out thursday and saturday. When it comes to sports at Quinnipiac we are OK. Hockey is the best of the sports to watch, especially when we play Yale. The most common thing I hear from students that are transfering out of Quinnipiac is not that they didn't like the classes or the schools, it's that they want to go to a bigger college. There are no on campus frats, so if you want keggers get to know a sports team or someone older.

mary

People outside the new england area don't know much about quinnipiac and probably don't even know about it. there is not much to do around the college so I wouldn't call it a college town. Our administration does not value the students opinion as much as they should. Most students do not even see administration or meet them until their graduation day. There is not alot of school pride. Not alot of students attend sporting events. There is not much diversity at Quinnipiac. The campus is beautiful and most of the people are nice. The student body is not really diverse and most people are wealthy and have alot of money and aren't the most friendly. People tend to find a specific crowd and tend to stick with that crowd throughtout their 4 years. Most complaints are about the lack of good, healthy food and the shuttles to the parking lot are always late.

Melissa

Despite the stereotypes at Quinnipiac, I absolutely love it here. The campus is drop dead gorgeous and the people that I'm friends with are amazing. I love the fact that only about 7,000 people (both undergrad and grad) go here. It might sound like a lot of people but there is always at least one person i can say "hey" to while walking to class or to the caf to get food. Class sizes are small which is something that i looked for and considered when applying to college. I didn't want to be "number 312", I wanted them to at least know my name; I got that AND more. My smallest class is my english class with 16 students while my largest class is probably my chemistry class with 27 students. I've never had a class with more than 30. However, if you're looking for a lot of diversity on campus, Quinnipiac is most likely not your school. That would be something that I would definitely LOVE to change about this school. It's like seeing walking drones wearing ugg boots and northfaces everywhere you go. Because the school is so expensive, not many people can afford it, and that really bothers me. Quinnipiac has really grown over the past decades and was able to convert from a college to a university. Surprisingly as small as Quinnipiac is, a lot of people know about it or have had someone go through and graduate from the school and they have nothing but nice things to say about it. There is always plenty of stuff to do around here, both on and off campus. We have many organizations on campus who hold many activities (which most of them include free food, something that you will learn will become very scarce when becoming a college kid) We've had AWESOME concerts in the fall and the spring, seeing the starting line, cartel, t-pain, and jack's manequinn. Hamden (where Quinnipiac is located) isn't much of a college town, even though the shuttle takes you into town where there are some places to shop and get food. There's a stop and shop and plenty of places to dine out if you're tired of caf food (which is very often). New haven (20 minutes by shuttle) is where all the night life takes place. There is an endless supply of clubs and rockin' restaurants. There is definitely tons of bobcat pride when it comes to sports. Even though we don't have a football team, our hockey team is definitely one of the best. With the new arena they built for our hockey and basketball teams, games are pure maddness which is so awesome!

Dan

I would expand facilities to meet capacity requirements for the student population. Construction is being done on a second campus, but for now the cafeteria, library, and dorms are all crowded despite new dorm construction last year. 2000 beds are being added, brining the undergraduate population up to about 8500. Sports are getting much better now that we have a good facility. Hamden is not much of a college town, but it gets the job done. If you want to stay local and get drunk theres about 4 solid local bars and then New Haven for larger gatherings and new people. The security here is good, although many people disapprove of the way they handle situations. The biggest controversy on campus here is that high death rate we have, we lose about 3 or 4 student per year, a lot of them due to drinking. There is no school spirit or pride whatsoever, don't come here if you are looking for school spirit. Maybe in the next few years things will change with the larger undergraduate population and the funds being dumped into the athletics program.

Erin

Quinnipiac is a wonderful fit for me. It is a beautiful campus, nestled at the bottom of Sleeping Giant mountain (which is really fun to climb). The size of QU is just right; its definitely big enough so it doesn't feel like high school, but small enough so you aren't just a number. People react positively when I tell them I go to QU, but most people outside of New England have never heard of it, which is okay with me. I spend most of my time on campus in my dorm or my friends' dorms; my room is big and is actually really nice. Hamden is the town that QU is in and it has a lot of resources--grocery stores, Old Navy, Gap, Walmart, Applebees, Chilis, Panera, etc. Also, New Haven is only about 15 minutes away which has great restuarants and nightclubs and shopping. The biggest recent controversy on campus was a racial issue earlier this year, but by no means does that reflect the attitude toward diversity of the rest of the students; it was just an incident regarding an ignorant person. There is definitely a lot of school pride and school spirit; there are fun school sponsored events and sporting events, especially hockey.

Jonathan

Quinnipiac University is a great school. It is a small, private campus with a great curriculum. The business school here is as good as any other competitive school. We just don't have as much publicity, I guess is how I would put it, in the sense that we are not as well known as some other schools. You can come to Quinnipiac and get the education that you're looking for. With small classes, you get more personal attention from the professors and more interaction with your classmates. It is an atmosphere that promotes learning and helps you strive toward achieving the education that you pay thousands of dollars for.

Alyss

One of the nicest things about quinnipiac is the campus. Especially in the spring everyone is outside tanning, play sports, doing homework, eating.. sometimes called "QU beach" and it makes it a really fun and welcoming atmosphere Weekends are full of effort as everyone goes into the clubs and you have to get a shuttle..wait in line....no frat parties really.. fun that there are lots of options and that you can meet people from other colleges. Lots and lots of girls, not so many boys Library is great but gets very crowded.. law library is my secret escape May weekend.. the big party weekend was cancelled so that was a huge blow for kids this year and led to a large controversy

Charlie

It has the most updated technology, great location with regards to job opporunities in Boston, NYC, New Haven, Yale, it is a gorgeous campus, always kept spotless, view of sleeping giant. One thing I would change would be the diversity of kids on campus. Encourage asians, japanese, vietnamese, african americans, chinese to come here. I say the size is just right. Most people did not know of quinnipiac when i said i was going there, unless you had heard about the polls. I would say even in the last year it is up and coming already and more people know of it. I spend most of my time on campus, in my dorm. But I am busy so am also up in College of Liberal Arts a lot along with the student center and athletic center also turf. Hamden is definitely not a college town. I do not believe our President is very involved with campus and do not take control of the important issues such as race. They care more about our image, as described in the chronicle, I find it ridiculous that he wants to get rid of our school newspaper because he wants to have complete control over what goes in it and the newspaper club does not agree. I would say there is schoo pride but not enough at all. Quinnpiac has a very small percentage of on campus parking which is very inconvenient. We pay for everything we get at the cafe instead of by meal. One experience I will always remember is the opening of td bank north or jsut going to a game. Housing is a common complaint, not enough money on the meal plan, parking shuttles.

Lorie

The campus is beautiful! The food isn't so great...BUT they are adding on to the cafe. So it'll be huge next year...so hopefully better food too? The campus isn't too large or too small. The farthest walk anyone would ever have to make would be no more than 15 minutes...and that's if you walked slow. Most people know Quinnipiac cause of it's polling institute or men's hockey team (which by the way you should totally go to). So Quinnipiac is pretty well known. Hamden is NOT a college town. Most kids go to New Haven to let loose on the weekends. As long as you have some sort of real ID, even if its not you, you can pretty much get into any club. Shuttles take you into new haven and back which is awesome so you no one has to be designated to drive. Shuttles also go into hamden so you can go shopping and stuff since freshmen aren't allowed to have cars.

Jamie

Our school has too many students for its size, but a new campus is being build down the street for seniors that would alleviate this. The biggest problem at Quinnipiac is our quest to maintain a "perfect" reputation. This has become a problem on our campus because it comes at the expense of the students civil liberties and freedoms. Our school newspaper has been shut down because it accurately reported on issues on our campus rather than sweep them under the carpet. Also our disciplinary system has taken on a guilty until proven innocent mentality. I know someone who was in his room, studying for finals when his roommate was caught with Marijuana. Because he was one of 8 people who lived in the room, without question suspended him for the remainder of the semester. He is now graduating a semester late because the school made him guilty by association and were dead wrong. His future was almost compromised because this school refused to actually find out what happened. Their apology to this student can't make up for the undue embarrassment and hassle he will endure explaining why he is graduating late to friends, family and potential employers.

Andrea

The best thing about Quinnipiac is the experience and the location! It is great place to spend your time with people that are awesome. In my experience, it is the perfect size. Not too large, where you get lost in the shuffle, and not too small. There is a friend for everyone and an activity to suit everyone's needs. The school is convenietly located in a suburban town so there are places to go if you need stuff, and it is near a small city where there is great night life, more shopping, more restaurants, etc. It is also only an hour and a half from NYC, which is a lot of fun for a day trip. The train is nearby and the Quinnipiac shuttles have a route that will take students to the train. I loved all my professors. They were very supportive and always there if I needed to ask questions. The school is growing so there have been things that I don't like. I don't like that there is no parking for seniors (who commute to campus because there was no senior housing until now), and the server goes down when registering for classes. The school and administration is adapting to the demands from a larger number of students so the parking issue is in the process of being resolved and the IT is always working on tech. related issues. The students have a lot of school pride and students can expect to see the Quinnipiac name everywhere. I love that there are many clubs and activities to join and looking back I wish I joined more. My extracurricular activites were mainly my internships. The career center works hard to provide students with internship opportunities. They help students perfect their resume so seniors are primed for the work world. An experience that I will never forget are just the friends that I have made and all the great times we have spent together during college.

Melanie

Quinnipiac is great. Everyone has his or her own niche and you can find something that you are interested in here. It's so easy to get to Hamden or New Haven to go out with your friends on the weekend or just go shopping for the day. Sports are pretty big up here, everyone goes to the hockey games, especially the one against Yale- tickets for that are impossible to get.

Casey

The best things about Quinnipiac are the challenging academics and the "always something to do" social life. If i could change one thing, it would be the housing program. The housing lottery leaves sophomores with nothing but off-campus housing even though the school claims they are guaranteed through junior year. Also, the food is pretty awful. The school is just right or maybe a little bit too small. People generally know QU from the Quinnipiac polls or they reply saying "oh that's a great school." I don't think they really know how great it is though. They are unaware of the academic success on campus and the big plans to become ivy league and build a new campus. I spend most of my time on campus in and around the residence halls. Occasionally, in the classrooms, student center, cafe, and library. We do not technically have a college town. Hamden is pretty junky, but it gets the job done because it has the necessary shopping outlets for food and clothes, such as shaws, stop&shop, gap and old navy. Quinnipiac's administration is somewhat stubborn. Being a former Student Government Association member, they do small things to work with students to cover up the fact that they do little actually for the students. If the students want change, it doesn't really matter. The biggest recent controversy on campus was when a racial slur was written on the door (on a white-board) of an african american person's residence. This is awful, but the campus went into a frenzy. The administration sent out a ton of e-mails defending themselves by suggesting that IT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Students began to label all QU students as racist and indifferent. The person who did that was extremely wrong, but we need to keep in mind that this could and I am sure, has occurred on ANY campus. A diversity ad-hoc committee was formed to brainstorm ways to slay the indifference of students. "Livestrong' type bracelets were made that said, "Quinnipiac United, silence is hate." There is a significant amount of school pride with hockey games, but that is pretty much it. Something unusual about campus is that Quinnipiac is unusually stern about drinking. You will get written up if you are found with or around alcohol and May Weekend was taken away (however, due to unfortunate incidents that probably gave the administration no choice). One experience I will always remember is Relay For Life. It was the first Relay done on campus. Many of the students involved walked ALL NIGHT. It was a huge event and I believe we raised over $100,000. The most frequent complaints that I get is that QU has all of the same "type" of student. There are more girls than guys on campus (that needs to change please) and most of the girls enjoy dolling up, getting drunk and going to clubs. They usually own Vera Bradley bags and a lot of the people are good looking. It is true.

Lauren

Quinnipiac is a beautiful campus. It is in Hamden, Connecticut which offers everything you would need outside of school. It is a lot of fun, and every summer I go home I am really sad to leave.

jen

The School is just the right size and the school is breathe taking! The view alone will make you want to come here and the atmosphere as a result is wonderful!

Christine

I feel the administration is definitely not concerned with its students. One example, the school newspaper, the Chronicle, is not independent, and is extremly censored, and it's terrible. The most recent scandel is the one dealing with the Editor-in-chief who exposed the truth about the administration, and President Lahey basically threatened to remove him of his title. What happened to freedom of speech and press, if you ask me. Also, the housing shortage is terrible. The housing buildings are rather nice, but there are not enough dorms to support the student body. It's a decent college town, you can take the shuttle to go shopping in Hamden (Old Navy, Stop and Shop). At night, one weekends, everyone goes in New Haven at the clubs/bars. It gets quite expensive though.

Erica

Quinnipiac is the perfect size. It is small enough where you can know people everywhere you go if you choose to, but if you are more kept to yourself, thats fine too. It is so much fun here, and the campus is beautiful! I am never bored, between hanging out with friends in the dorm or on the quad, the student run organizations and events, and the awesome fitness classes that are provided. There is a ton of school pride, everywhere you look, people are sporting the Quinnipiac colors and the Bobcat logo!

Many people, even in the Northeast, still go "huh?" when I tell them the school's name or where it is located, I now just go "outside of New Haven, CT" because it is much easier to locate. The town of Hamden, CT is residential, and sometimes there are problems with them and the school with the new construction that is going on with the school. The facilities are excellent, but sometimes the dorms have problems because there are not enough for all of the students. Seniors move off campus, but supposedly there will be a new campus being built across the road and down a little, and will have more dorms.

It is a very nice campus, but that is about it. Nothing to do here, scheduling and housing is for the birds. This place is terrible.

There are many great things about Quinnipiac. the competitive sports, the challenging yet enlightening academics, the inspirational teachers, and so much more. I am only just finishing my first year at QU but I can say that I am very impressed thus far.

Best thing about Quinnipiac is the beautiful campus. If I could change one thing I would have a pool to work out in. It is just the right size for me. When people hear I go to Quinnipiac its either "O the Quinnipiac Polls" or "That is a good school." I spend most of my time doing work on campus in the Library or trying to have fun with my friends in our rooms or when its nice outside. THERE IS NO COLLEGE TOWN! I HATE the Quinnipiac administration. Although this does not apply to all but they are the most unprofessional group I have ever encountered. I come from a big football school with alot of school pride and since QU doesn't have a football team I would say the school pride isn't as strong. There isn't a sport where EVERYONE goes to. I will always remember how unprofessional the staff is.
