Ranger College in Stephenville is a very small college but it helps me interact more and gives us the help and attention that us as students need to pass and make good grades. It has a small coffee shop upfront and a donut shop for those who forget their breakfast at home. Ranger College is an excellent college and I am happy to go there.

Ranger college is located in Ranger, Texas, which doesn't have much of a nightlife (and is at least an hour's drive away from any) but the small-town atmosphere fosters a very down-to-earth staff and friendly locals. To compensate, there are college-hosted weekly activities such as game nights and talent shows. The professors are dedicated to their subjects and the smaller class sizes allow for more direct and versatile teaching methods. The beautifully redesigned cafeteria features a variety of delicious all-you-can-eat meals for under $10. The campus itself is rather plain looking but well maintained and is currently going through an ambitious remodel, which will improve the visuals drastically.

Ranger College is a good two-year college to start with; especially if you don't want to dive straight into a four-year university. The teachers at Ranger really want their student to succeed and they try to help as much as they can get students to achieve their goals.

Absolutely terrible place. No academic integrity and no education going on. Old and dilapidated everything. Basketball is all that matters to administration, but then they get caught cheating (and trying to cover it up). Athletes can assault people and they look the other way or it gets covered up until it gets in the news. Not safe, and you'll learn nothing while here. Stay away.

I feel like they could do better as a school to help better their students. They are not prepared at all and do not get things done in a timely manner. I have had many thoughts of transferring colleges. The campus internet has been for 2 weeks which has not allowed the staff to do anything that they are suppose to be doing regarding the students funds! I feel like internet is an important part of a college and that they should have been on top of this issue within a few days.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

For the most part, the professors here are great. They know what they are talking about and are willing to help you succeed to move on to bigger and better thing. But, the president is terrible. He and The Board of Regents are extremely corrupt. If you do not play mens' basketball, you are treated like a second hand citizens. The things that are done here are so bad I would not have enough space here to type it all. I would NOT recommend this school to anyone, even my worst enemy.

Ranger College

Ranger is a good place to go if your looking to get your basics out of the way for a really low price. The town however is located by a major highway and the school itself is starting to fall apart. There is new remodeling be done however and every thursday, friday, and saturday nights the activity center is open. You can get bored really easily so make sure you know how to drive around big cities because you will more then likely be traveling out of there very often.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell myself to stay focused on my schoolwork and do not lead astray to the influences that friends can have on myself. Become active in student activities and look for any oppurtunities to broaden my view on my future goals. Never let anything throw myself off track and form a routine of good study habits. Keep in mind that the transition from Hgh School to college life will be difficult especially coming from a large city to a much smaller one. Have an open mind and allow yourself to meet people and listen to their advice. Remember that with a strong GPA and my personal qualities I will be allowed to pursue my dreams at a four year university. Never let myelf fail strictly because I have to much going for me to ruin it during this time of life. But most importantly, have fun. Win friends and influance people no matter where my journey takes me from here.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Before coming to Ranger I would have like to have known more about the associates degrees offered on campus. This would have given me better understanding of how to manage my classes and set up my hours in regards to my major.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

The one on one communication that is directed from my professors. Each of my classes consists of 30 students or less. This is helpful for maximum understanding of the lessons and curriculum. They are always available for assistance in tutoring or anything else needed. A majority of them have been active on campus for over 15 years and have a firm understanding of their duties and are good role models.
