I guess the stereotype is a tech-savvy, heavy-backpack toting, science minded person. As a stereotype, most students work hard and play hard, by which they consume a surprising amount of alcohol on the weekends (only weekends for engineers-maybe Management majors drink during the week).
Guys are nerds, girls arent as smart, guys are desperate, fraternities have a bad name (animal house image)
They are nerdy and geeks who never come out of their rooms. Also, that there are no girls at RPI.
Everyone at RPI is a nerd
There is a large population of "nerdy" students, and the ratio between male and female is heavily unbalanced with about 3 guys to each girl.
1."RPI is full of geeks" 2. "The ratio of men to women is very heavy on the side of the men"
Dorky, NO Girls, NO Fun, Lame school in the middle of nowhere...
That all the students that go there are really big nerds and have no social lives.
RPI students are stereotyped as nerds who never come out of their room and spend all day and night either studying, or playing video games. RPI males are said to be explained by the saying: "the odds are good but the goods are odd"
RPI students are really geeky. The members of both sexes are unattractive.
nerds, dont do anything on the weekends
Nerdy WoW players, calculator toting geeks, bunch of engineers
You know ... nerdy engineer-types: google-vest-wearing, pocket-protector, heavy-backpack-schlepping types. Also there's some rumor going around that RPI student's don't know how to party. The ratio of male to female used to be about 70-30, but it's starting to even out a bit more.... it might be around 63-37 now, but I'm not entirely sure. In general RPI students are very bright and really hardworking - this stereotype is 97.6{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} true (my mathematic major friend said he calculated this percentage).
Troy is an unsafe city. There are no girls at RPI. Everyone at RPI is a geek.
RPI is a "nerd school." Everyone there is really smart and many are socially awkward. There aren't many girls, and the ones that are at RPI tend to become full of themselves because there are so many more guys - they develop "RIBS". Also, there is nothing to do at RPI.
Many people feel that RPI is full of nerds and geeks that stay in their room all day long and don't know how to party. Before coming to RPI, everyone complains of the male-female ratio.
RPI students are typically stereotyped one of two ways, Nerds or Athletes.
Here are the two biggest stereotypes...1) The university is full of only "nerds" and "geeks" and 2) The male to female ratio is so extreme and the selection of girls is so poor that any male who attends this institution will not get a girlfriend.
People are nerdy and stay in their rooms all day.
We are all guys and nerds. There are no athletic people or girls.
RPI students are stereotyped as nerds, with little no social life.
the biggest one is that there are no girls here, and the girls that are here are very weird and/or bitchy. another stereotype about rpi is that everyone here is a nerd/geek/loser/dork/etc.
Stereotypes tend to be that we are "Nerdy" and generally not fun.
Students are nerdy. There are no girls.
nerds, geeks, anti-social people (which is true of most of the school), stuck up, weird, gamers
RPI students are stereotyped as being overly intelligent and socially awkward.
Nerds, bitches
some stereotypes: there are no females, we're all nerds, Troy is a shady place
Nerds, Asians, Nerdy Asians, RIBS (Rensselaer or Ratio Induced Bitch Syndrome), Fags, Pussys, Geeks, Computer Nerds.
RPI is full of nerds, and the very few amount of girls here have "R.I.B.S" (ration induced bitch syndrome)
A lot of RPI students have no lives, they sit in their rooms and play on their computers and with video games all the time. Also because of the ratio of women to men, the possibility of finding dates and/or girlfriends is a difficult challenge to overcome.
Antisocial, overly academic, unfriendly
nerdy
nerds, all guys, nothing to do
Very Geeky, Bad guy/girl ratio, girls have RIBS- *Ratio Induced Bitch Syndrome* , bad social life.
Nerdy, nice and willing to help, geeky, smart
nerds, weird, play video games, computer geeks, mostly guys
RIBS - Ratio Induced Bitch Syndrome - There are 3 guys for every one girl, so RPI girls are stereotyped as being snotty It's stereotyped as being a geek fest, very nerdy, many awkward guys Very good hockey team
Nerdy white boy computer geeks.
nerds, don't get out of rooms much, snobs, no party life, no girls
RPI is a nerdy school: yes it is. The girls there all develop RIBS (Ratio induced bitch syndrome), they believe they are God's gift to the world but that is only because there are so few girls here that they all get a whole lot of attention they are not used to. Greek life helps life a lot better as well as the motivation to make something of yourself.
The stereotypes about RPI is that we are all nerds and all we do is study study study. RPI looks down on the town of Troy or it doesn't do enough to integrate the people of troy with its campus.
Very Nerdy, too much WoW Way too few girls, and the ones we have are ugly bitches
The main stereotypes you will find on campus is the extremely awkward nerd, or the conservative reserved type. A favorite guy stereotype is for a girl with what they call RIBS (ratio induced bitch syndrome). Lastly, athletes (generally the hockey players) are stereotyped as dumb.. usually management majors.. and extremely pompous.
I don't many other then RPI students are predominantly male. I am in two of the smaller majors on campus, so I guess I could entail that RPI Students are often thought to be engineers and the sciences are often forgotten.
All asian, all nerds
That we're all giant socially inept nerds.
The guys are nerdy, and socially awkward. The girls are nerdy unattractive, socially awkward, and neurotic.
Everyone thinks RPI students always play video games.
That it's all males. The students are huge nerds.
