Greek life is popular, sporting events can sometimes gather attention, bingo is really popular, and an on-campus rave was a fun activity.

Roanoke College offers more than one-hundred student run activities from religious organizations to Model U.N. If you cannot find your place on campus, it is truly no one's fault but your own as there are infinite ways to get involved. Of the organizations on campus, Greek Life is certainly the most prevalent with nearly 20{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the student body in a Fraternity or Sorority. There are four social fraternities, four social sororities and one Historically African-American sorority that are recognized by the College. All other social, "greek" organizations are not recognized or regulated by the college, the Inter-Fraternity Council or the National Panhellenic Conference. My experience with Greek Life has been absolutely fantastic! Being that Roanoke is such a small school, the entire Greek community is gets along and supports each other. Through going Greek I have met some of my best friends that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Weekends at Roanoke have something for everyone. Parties are usually at off-campus houses and are thrown by Fraternities or Athletic teams. The bar scene in Salem is minimal, but frequent house parties pick up where bars are lacking. While there is a substantial party scene throughout the entire week, there are plenty of things to do on and off campus that do not involve drinking. The Campus Activities Board offers events three to six nights a week from midnight dodgeball to arts and crafts during brunch.

We are pretty Greek, I think about {4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c}35. They throw most of the parties but you'll still be able to get in if youre not one of them. We have a highly acclaimed quior program as well as theatre. The one thing I don't like about RC is the school spirit. I'm a sports nut and there is not a lot of cheering going on. I'm a tech fan so I get by okay. We do have a nationally ranked lax team but I don't get to in to it. Salem is a cool town to hang out in. Every fastfood place imagineable is on main st one minute away. Salem Red Sox baseball is alot of fun. Downtown Roanoke is 15 minutes away which has everything you can think of.
