Rollins College Top Questions

What are the academics like at your school?

Victoria

Honestly, the academics here are not easy. Sure, you'll find some classes that are a breeze, but not without doing some work. I never have understood why or how people slack off here because it is a tough school! Luckily, students can receive a lot of assistance with classes if they reach for it. There is a free student tutoring center called TJ's that is extremely helpful with tutors who have taken the classes before you and can help you edit your papers and such. Also, the professors are extremely responsive if you need help. Most are very prompt in responding emails and will offer any help for you to succeed. Luckily in situations like this, the class sizes average at 17 so the professor will know your name and be able to pinpoint what you need to work on. I have never had any problems with asking a professor for help! The education I'm getting here I actually feel will be so beneficial for me in the long run. Since we are a liberal arts college, 1/3 of your classes will be general education requirements, 1/3 electives, and 1/3 going toward your major. Rollins wants their students and graduates to be more knowledgeable in all topics, hence why general education classes are a requirement. Not only will it help expand your knowledge, but it will help you narrow down your choices for a major you think you would like!

Classes are similar to an open debate. Most students study quite a bit. I was in the MBA program which is a very demanding curriculum. The school is very selective in regard to admissions.
