My classmates can either be very smart and studious or unfocused and more alcohol literate than knowledgeable.

My classmates are very diverse in many ways, such as religions, ethnics, interests, personalities, and values. Most of them are proactive and friendly.

Largely composed of liberal arts students. Very intelligent and motivated crowd of people. It is competitive. The campus is very diverse, representing a plethora of ideas and backgrounds. However, this is probably more representative of New Jersey residents than it is of the school itself. Out of state students are nearly unheard of.

It's hard to describe all my classmates in one sentence, however if I must I believe that they are a very diverse group, which is refreshing. There are always interesting people to learn from with different backgrounds and beliefs.

I do not know many of them because our classes are so big. The friends I have made in my classes are very nice although not so intelligent. All the people struggling with course material seem to band together to try and pass the class while the smarter students alientate themselves and study on their own. I wish some of the more intelligent students shared their knowledge with the less intelligent students so that everyone could do well on the tests. It is sort of a survival of the fittest atmosphere in most lower level courses.

The majority are caucassians, perhaps not passionate about social justice and diversity, but definetaly with a sense of social responsibility and willingness to make an impact in today's world.

There are all different types of students because there are those who go to lecture and those who don't and those who pay attention and don't.

It's very diverse, the school in itself is a melting pot. Students vary in competitivness. Some are very willing to help you while others are very adamant about not helping.

Most are party animals, hedonistic and somewhat dull, but a few are brilliant, and these make the experience worthwhile.

My classmates range from motivated to lazy, but those who do all the work are always eager to help others.

Culturally diverse and open to new ideas, motivated and excited to learn about their chosen career path, fun and always looking for a good time on the weekend or even on random nights during the week, involved in university events and community outreach projects, and most students love New York City and frequently travel there by train.

Loud, obnoxious, obsessed with partying, people in their 20s who have the mental age of 17 yr olds. Then there's the kids who take everything extremely seriously who tend to live on a campus other than College Avenue, who study only, and that's it.

The students in my class are often ambtious, eager to learn, enthusiastic, and hard working.

Some are really willing to get out of there comfort zone and learn and meet new people, but others are just there because they have to be and check the clock to make sure class is ending the minute it's supposed to.

It's difficult to describe my classmates in one sentence because Rutgers is such a large, diverse school with many unique, amazing, intelligent indivduals who each contribute something special to the shool.

They are shy in the beginning of the semester, but once everyone becomes comfortable, everyone helps each other out with missed notes or classes.

Your classmates are exactly as close as you make them. If you don't socialize in class you won't make friends, but if you put yourself out there you will find a lot of great people who have things in common with you and will become friends for life.

Students usually don't work as hard as they should during the day; many of them leave a majority of studying and writing papers for the middle of the night or early morning--don't do that because sleep is your best friend for a healthy life.

My classmates are academically focused but still know how to have fun.

Some dorky, some fratty, some immature, but most are cool, academically -focused, realistic, smart, friendly, and at times helpful. Make a food impression in the beginning of the semester to have study groups and get connections to get into places.

The student body is extremely diverse. For some students this is their first time in America and for others they've lived in New Jersey their entire lives. Every culture, ethnicity and religion is well represented and accepted. To generalize, students are pretty modest and friendly t-shirt and jeans types of folks. Politically the school ranges from long haired kids who think that the war is 'like, really bad, man' to Libertarians who want to abolish the Fed and use the word 'bootstraps' a lot to conservatives, who are by their nature mostly quiet and withhold their opinions. The student body breaks down a bit by campus. College Ave is liberal arts kids, Busch is sciences and engineering, Cook is biological and life sciences, Livingston is communications and business and Douglass is the former women's college.
