Where is the best place to get work done on campus?

Jeffrey

Each dorm has a quiet study lounge which I prefer, or you can go to one of the several libraries on campus. It is a matter of personal preference.

The libraries are extremely spacious but the location of choice to get work done always seems to be the campus's student centers. It is close to the dorms and classrooms and offers food, serenity and an overall great environment.

I always do my work at a computer lab. There are a few around campus and there are always computers available to do work on. I prefer the labs to the libraries.

The best place to get work done on campus is definitely the SAC (Student Activity Center) on College Ave. It's quiet, has super comfy chairs- with attached pivot desk, and the entire back wall is a window that looks out over the Raritan river- making it bright and beautiful. Another favorite spot of mine is anywhere on Douglas Campus. It's a 10 minute bus ride on the school bus system from my dorm on the College Avenue campus, but I love lounging around all the beautiful old trees and writing or reading a good book. It's great for studying too, because you're less likely to bump into people you know and since you're nowhere near an outlet or computer, distractions are minimal.

The best places are the places not that many people know about. Sounds obvious, right? But really, there are so many random places and rooms that people wouldn't think about. In the GSE (grad school of education) building, located on College Ave, has a lounge that is perfect for getting work done (or napping if you need a break). People generally don't go there because well, you would think people only go in there if they're in the grad school. People tend to stay quiet there but beware if you have feet phobia; people tend to also kick off their shoes there! If you're in need a computer lab, GSE has one upstairs that is also nice and quiet and down College Ave, Records Hall is also a nice computer lab. Has PCs and Macs for all users. In the student center on Livingston, there's a lounge towards the back entrance which is perfect for studying. Again, it's quiet and has large windows for looking out of (if you're into that kind of thing). Occasionally, you might even catch the random pianist who goes around playing very soothing music. These areas are only nice if you're like me and like to prop up your feet and do some reading or writing on a laptop.
