Saginaw Valley State University is a great place to be successful as a student and after graduation. I do feel the school could benefit from more availability of certain classes that are being taken by a large population of the students. If more classes were available, students would be less frantic and stressed about getting the classes they need.
I often find that they false advertise events. They advertise events that are not actually what they say they are sometimes. There are some professors who should simply not be there because they do not care about their students nor know how to teach.
Because it is a small university, certain classes are not available every semester. It can be frustrating if a desperately needed course is not offered when a student needs it.
There is nothing that is frusterating, the only thing is getting used to the college itself, if you are coming from a smaller school district.
Scheduling is the hardest part. As a freshman, you are not going to be able to get into the classes that you would like. You need to continue to go back to scheduling on the open dates to try to get into what you want.
The most frustrating thing about Saginaw Valley State University would have to be registering for classes. In the beginning of the 2010 winter semester that I am enrolled in, freshman were allowed to register last. This made it hard to get the classes those required classes I needed. Luckily, I was able to get some good classes that will help work toward my major.
The most frustrating thing about my school is that there is only one place you can use your meal plan and the food isn't the greatest.
Financial Aid is not accurate
The most frustrating part about school is time management and that's what most of College is about. It's extremely hard because it's a big transition from high school. It's absolutely nothing like high school except a few nice professors. Everyone tries to compare anything and everything from college to high school and they come to find no comparison.
The most frustrating thing about this school is the location. On campus safety is not an issue and no one fears walking arounf alone but if you travel more than 5 miles in another direction it becomes an unsafe neighborhood to be in.
Unfortunately, the only thing that is discouraging and frustrating to me is the financial responsibility. I believe it is good that students must pay tuition as it can build a sense of character and responsibility; however, having to take student loans every semester is scary as I know I will have to take 15 years to pay it all back. Although I love college dearly and feel that I am not the same person without it, I know in my heart that it is also creating a big strain for a good portion of my financial life.
The Most Frustrating Thing About Saginaw Valley State University Is Picking Classes When They All Are Filled Up And You Have To Wait Until One Open To Get The Right Class You Need.
Receiving enough financial aid ontime for paying for the upcoming semester.
The most frustrating thing about Saginaw Valley State Univeristy is its academic advising center. Many students are given poor information and bad guidance and many professors encourage students to only talk with professors in the degree program when needing advice.
