Israel - 08/12/2022

Sadly, the school does not hold to the Catholic standards like I have hoped. They seem to care more about keeping a good name with the country than with the students mental health. While the staff are quite nice, the lack of Christian values is easily spotted after a few days. I do love people but actions are a different story.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The best advice I could give my highschool self would be to be more confident in the area of study I wished to persue. While that uncertainty led me to persue more challenging and exciting goals in the long run, I have seen too many peers who started their college life with no direction and ended up either transfering or quiting. In the end they built up a few credits but wasted a lot of time and money. No one has enough of either of those things to waste on uncertainties.

St. Edwards in my opinion is best known for its small classes and diversity. This allows the students to interact more with the professors in order to achieve the best grades possible. Also with taking smaller classes you have more personal attention which helps when you want to do internships and The school is also diverse so you feel comfortable knowing that with there being so many different types of people there is bound to be someone that has the same interests as you.

  14. What are the academics like at your school?

Academics here are amazing. All my professors know their students by their first name. Due to the small teacher/student ratio, classes are very interactive and comfortable. Students are encouraged to ask questions and share their opinions. Students are quite studious, studying at least a couple hours a day, weather in the library or at the coffee shop. The most unique class I have taken so far was titled Literature & Human Experience: Asian American Literature. I learned so much about the Asian culture here in the United States. I feel as my horizon has expanded widely.

Students feel as they can express themselves freely and will be heard. There is plenty of school pride and many organizations one may join.
