The winters are hard on campus. There is ice everywhere and the grounds people don't always get all the spots that are the worst. It is truely a safety hazard and very frustrating when they don't even leave a bucket of salt out just incase they didn't get to a dorm yet. It is not a very large campus and with as many workers as the university says it has, the campus should always be de-iced before most students get up (earliest classes start at 8 am).
The most frustrating thing about my school is that we are in the middle of no where, so whenever you need to get a break there is no where to go in order to have some fun and get away! I also do not have a car so I cannot travel anywhere, and i'm constantly on campus.
The most frustrating thing about Saint Francis University is that it is a school that is not the most commuter friendly. As a student who drives from my parents house, I see first hand the lack of care and thought for the commuter students. The university seems to forget how many students commute from home to come to class. However, when the winters get bad they do encourage students to stay with friends on campus because the roads get dangerous and students who drive and cannot make it when the roads are too dangerous are not reprimanded for missing class.
It can feel like you are cooped up sometimes especially when you do not have a car. The winter months can be long and it is very cold. On some weekends the campus can feel dead.

The athletics. By attending a small school, the athletic teams tend to be on the bad side.
Little to do on weekends.
the school is extremely focused on not allowing drinking, to the point where it almost ruins the college experience for students. they need to lighten up on their alcohol policies and accept the fact that college students are going to drink alcohol on the weekends.
the snow
The most frustrating thing about this school is the lack of local entertainment. Saint Francis University sits on beautiful wooded acres, and is nestled along scenic mountain chains. However, for those who can not appreciate the simplicity the school offers, alcohol and partying becomes more than typical for some students. The closest stores are 30 minutes away, and the closest city, Altoona, is about 45 minutes away.
