Saint Johns University Top Questions

Since both St. John's and St. Ben's campuses make up one college, it's tough to get bored of either look. Personally, I think St. John's campus is a little more eye-appealing, but St. Ben's seems to have a bit more modern design. St. John's has been around for many, many years, and many of the buildings are made of red brick from the quarry that is now the football stadium. They have a very authentic and sort of rustic feel to them. Other buildings, like the library, the science centers, and abbey church, guesthouse, and bell banner, are made of concrete. The architecture in the abbey is one-of-a-kind and absolutely amazing. The experience of simply walking into the building commands your reverence. The abbey bell banner, which houses the church bells (obviously), is an immensely tall structure and can be seen from the interstate, a little under a mile from campus. The buildings at St. John's were built with many angles and few curved lines, which is balanced by some of the innovative buildings at St. Ben's. St. Ben's seems to have a little more of a modern atmosphere than St. John's, though both have similar facilities. Some of the buildings at St. Ben's follow a curved architectural structure, and you can find yourself walking through some fun winding hallways, especially in buildings such as Gorecki or the Haehn Campus Center.
