I really loved my experience at STLCC. it is your typical community college so extracurricular activities are not really a big deal. You are not getting university living here, but it is affordable and the professors are very supportive. I would highly recommend anyone looking to start college or go back to college to start at a community college, particularly STLCC.
It's a top notch community college where education matters. Although I have not experienced all of the services, this school is very substantial in regards to education and success for their new and current students. Everyone is supportive and helpful.
The only campuses I've been to are forest park and the William J. Harrison Education Center building. My overall opinion of both are great. They have nice staff who are always willing to help. I would say the downside is not having all the required classes for my major.
Great place for students to get general studies out the way. Many people go here to get their associates degree or a certified in their desired degree field. St. Louis Community College has a great hospitality and dental program. I would recommend anyone who wants to be certified in their career field to come to this community college.

When I look back at myself as a senior in high school I now see how unprepared I was for college. I expected it to be an extremely boring walk in the park. I didnt get excited about going to college at all just because it was a community college. I spent the whole summer slumping around because all my friends were leaving and going to big universities and I was stuck at home just because I didnt have enough money to move away just yet. I spent most of my first semester stuck in the same funk because I thought community colleges were a joke. Once I finally decided to give it a chance I really enjoy community college and wish I hadnt wasted so much time. If I would have started getting involved when I started taking classes there as a high school senior I would have realized how much community colleges have to offer. I would have loved to take full advantage of some of the opportunities that I missed out on like trying out for the softball team. Basically never make assumptions, take full advantage of every opportunity given to you.
I wish I would have known how incompetent and unhelpful the Financial Aid office is here. When I had some quick questions, I had to spend hours in the waiting room before I was finally able to meet with an unhappy and miserable financial aid officer, not once, but on 4 different occasions!
In high school I couldn't have the freedom that i had in colllege.
My school is a very diverse and challenging learning environment.
Classmates are a lot different than i was and now im getting up to par.
St. Louis Community College was very unique in the way that people in your classes would range from ages 18-80. Having all different ages in almost every class made it more interesting because you would get to hear many different perspectives during group discussions. I don’t think that happens very often in more traditional colleges. I think that as a St. Louis Community College graduate I got a more diverse experience than all of my friends who went to traditional 4-year colleges right after high school.
The most frustrating thing about my school is the admission process but that is normal due to size of the school.
The classes are filled with adult students , who appear to be very focused on finishing college , attaining their degree . Being that we all happen to be older students , I find we can relate to one another much better . Through conversation I've learned helpful study materials , programs I could look into for my major , various scholarship info , and like minded individuals who are just as focused . Being surrounded by positive peers , working towards the same goals as myself is inspiring to me .
It is best known for the fire fighting, respiratory therapy, but better know for its culinary arts programs. In the area it is known as being a great start or restart for students pursing a career, or furthering their knowledge. It is affordable and the instructors are great.
The kind of person who should attend this school is a person who is patient enough to deal with the bad parking and slow faculty. A person who can afford the high priced books. Also this person should plan to finish there general transfer studies there and move on to a four year institution
in which they can excell in there feild.
I think someone who is unsure what direction they're life is headed in , not sure if they want to attend college shouldn't be in this institution . The professors seem to have no tolerance for excuses , only interested in helping the students who really want to learn .
I am most likely to "brag" about the general compassion of professors at St. Louis Community College. I have yet to come across a professor who is uncooperative and unwilling to help me succeed. This is my favorite part of St. Louis Community College. I know I can always count on my professors.
