It's a great school, just overshadowed a lot by the University of Notre Dame. The community is the best part of Saint Mary's. I've met so many wonderful people who are always there for you and they've become people I can call my family. The academics are good, and the teachers are very accessible and will make time in their very busy schedules to meet with students who have questions. The food is decent for college dining hall meals, there are some good dishes and there are dishes that aren't that good. There are so many activities available for students, and we are also allowed to join clubs at Notre Dame which opens up a range of things to do and helps students meet more people. I am in the band at Notre Dame, and it's a wonderful opportunity that is offered to students from Saint Mary's College, and a lot of people don't know about.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Saint Mary’s College is 81%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If I were given the opportunity to go back in time and talk to myself as a highschool senior with my current knowledge about college life and the transition, my advice would be this; Don't doubt your ability to surprise yourself. When I began my first semester here at Saint Mary's College I was terrified that I would not be able to keep up with the work load, that I would not make new friends, and that I just wouldn't be as happy as I was in my comfortable highschool environment where I was able to rule the school as a senior. Since my time at Saint Mary's has begun, I have found just the opposite to be true. I have accomodated tremendously to my new acadamic schedule. I even managed the dean's list in my first semester and I found my classes to be wonderfully entertaining. My social life has never been richer. The friendships that I have created here have only made my heart grow. I have found that college allows your true self to shine through, you can be whoever you want to be, you can be who you are.
A woman who has dreams and aspirations of a very successful life. A woman who wants to succeed. A woman who wants to be empowered. A woman who is strong willed. A woman who is very focused and well driven and strives to do well in everything and anything that she does or wants to do.
What it would've been like to go to an all girls school. It's not a bad thing, but there are days when you love it and days when you don't like it so much.
Saint Mary's College is like a second home to most of its students because of the many many opportunities we are offered academically, spiritually, and athletically; but most of all, the atmosphere of Saint Mary's allows for its students to excel in what ever they may choose due to the wide variety of classes, majors, and professors.
Saint Mary's College is known for a beautiful campus, a small all-girl student body, and a welcoming falcuty.
An unmotivated person should not attend Saint Marys.
I would say that small campus and great alumnea
The environment at Saint Mary's is wonderful. I love that it is an institution that is grounded in faith, but it is this faith that sometimes attracts students that are closed minded and ignorant. SMC can sometimes be a volatile place for students who are "different" to be.
That there are no boys on campus! Seriously, it is so nice getting up in the morning for class and realizing that you don't have to look especially nice for some guy that's in your class. It makes it a lot easier to keep social and academic life seperate because when you are in class you can focus on your work.
My classmates are diverse and hardworking.
Saint Mary's is a college that is proud of its long lasting educational legacy. It is one of very few all women's colleges left in the United States. Saint Mary's is known for its small class sizes and student-faculty ratio. Saint Mary's has a unique campus community due to its close proximity and relationship with the University of Notre Dame and Holy Cross. Saint Mary's students get many perks such as Notre Dame football and athletic tickets. The best quality about Saint Mary's is the sisterhood of its students.
Because Saint Mary's College is a relatively small school, certain classes are not always offered because there are not enough people to take it. This makes it difficult when I am interested in taking particular classes, since some are rarely offered. However, professors are often willing to cooperate with students and offer unique accommodations, such as independent study, in order to meet student needs. Although it is frustrating when the classes in which I am interested are not offered, I am confident that the professors can help me find a way to take them.
