I love to tell my friends about the strong community of Saint Mary's College. No matter where you go on campus, you will always see a smiling face. Someone will always hold the door open for you, offer help when she can, and ask you about your day. The transition from high school to college is smooth here because there is a certain warmth that surrounds Saint Mary's. It's a kind of warmth that makes you never want to leave. It is truly a home away from home.
The Nursing Program is an exceptional program that I am proud to be a part of. It is challenging in every way yet extremely rewarding. If a person wants to be a part of the nursing program she is challenged from Day 1 of her first year - even before entering the program. The professors are engaging and I can tell they want me to be the best I can be.
When I speak of Saint Mary’s College, I have always praised the exceptional faculty and their constant dedication to the education of women. The Saint Mary’s community continually strives to provide a supportive and constructive academic atmosphere for its students. Small class sizes have allowed me to not only communicate with my professors on a daily basis, but also to gain a better understanding of subject material. I am fully confident these factors have been played a major role in my growth both intellectually and spiritually.
The study abraod programs. I just spent an amazing year in Rome with a great program.
I brag about the education I am getting. I am surrounded by people of my own religion and my own work ethic. I am honored to attened this college and get the best education. I have meet so many wonderful women. There has not be a class that I have attended where someone hasn't inturduced themself and been very welcoming.
The beautiful, vintage-y dorms.
The gorgeous, tree-lined avenue.
The close-knit community.
It is a very nice size. The professors all know you by name and love to help you with any problems. The social life is amazing because Notre Dame and Holy Cross are right next door so the three campuses are a small community. Saint Mary's is a very friendly and welcoming place to be.
I brag the most about how much I love my campus. The atmosphere here is amazing, and the people are very friendly.
I love the classes. There is such a wide variety of classes offered at Saint Mary's that anything you want to learn about is available to you. If you find that Saint Mary's doesn't have the major you want, becoming more popular is the self designed major program, which allows a student to pick the classes that best support her carrer plan. The professors are almost always available to ask questions or get help on homework.
the small classes with a lot of student-teacher communication
That there are no boys on campus! Seriously, it is so nice getting up in the morning for class and realizing that you don't have to look especially nice for some guy that's in your class. It makes it a lot easier to keep social and academic life seperate because when you are in class you can focus on your work.
how you meet amazing people and you having really good teachers
The fact that because SMC is an all women's college, I don't have to put on make up or dress up to go to classes! Also the fact that the professors were the ones that got me to choose my major and minor because of their passions.
