Saint Norbert College Top Questions

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Samantha

Before I came to St. Norbert College, I wish I would have known how important it was to get involved and stick to a four year plan. I learned that it is never too early to start building your resume for getting a good job after graduation. Now that i have graduated i am searching for internships and trying to figure out where I want to go to graduate school. I wish I had started this process a year sooner, but this delay is mainly because I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do with my future yet.

Emma

I wish I had known more about the housing requirements and rules.

Callie

I knew a lot about the school before entering, because my parents went here and got married here. I also came to many shadow days in which I learned a lot about the campus and had all my questions answered. Freshmen orientation was extremely helpful, as well as the FYE program (First Year Experience) in which our class got split up into groups of about 20 freshmen. Right away we got to know our peers and some of the upper classmen.

Zachary

I wish I would have know school scholarships do not give more money if your grades are higher than they penciled you in for. I wish I would have known that it would be impossible to get commuitor status for student teaching when the schools are in betweem my house and school and it could say me a lot of money if I were allowed to.

Nothing

Sarah

It is a very small, conservative religious school and almost 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the students that go there fit that criteria as well. Academically somewhat challenging, although peers provide no competition whatsoever.

Renata

That liberal arts colleges are completely different than research 1 universities. I was very disappointed when I experienced the poor teaching quality at U of A after having such a great learning experience at St. Norbert.

Sarah

I wish I had known how much the professors would expect from me, however, each professor is different, so it would be wrong to say they are all difficult. I would have gotten to know more of them better.

Peter

I think I would have wished to know exactly what people did in their spare time. many people are very open and friendly, however at the same time there is a culture among freshmen that is 1 of 3 things: 1.) drink 2.) study 3.) stay in and be a loner. Many people do not take these 3 to heart, but there is a core group who only stays in and studies.. a group that is heavily reliant on drinking and another that do not like to come out even during the day it seems.

Steve

Nothing more than I did. Tours were informative!

Brian

I wish I had known more about their religious studies program and how it did not emphasize relgion, but rather critisized it.

Kevin

how willing the teachers would be to help you. and how much partying goes on here (a lot)

Rachel

There is nothing that I wish I had known before coming here. The school is very good at answering questions ahead of time, so I had all the information I wanted.
