Most importantly, I would recommend that you come to SDSU with a plan in mind and make sure that you understand which classes you need to take for your major, that way you are prepared. I would recommend getting involved with some group or organization at SDSU. I am currently specializing in music and I really enjoy spending time with the other musicians. It helps you create a group of friends. Also, I would recommend getting to know where all your classes are ahead of time to help you out on the first day, as it is a large campus.

My school is absolutely, positively huge, busy, fast paced, welcoming, well structured, crazy, overwhelming, and a good environment for learning and preparation for the future and success of the students attending.

My school is building a new student community center despite the three others that exist, tuition increases and excess activities that I don't need are thrown in my face; I came here to get an education and all they want me to do is relax, but how is that possible when I can't pay my bills with the pathetic financial aid I am recieving.

San Diego State University is rather ethnically diverse, but is extremely Sorority/Fraternity centered. Joining is really the only way to feel included on campus. Even student organizations such as Associated Students is dominated by the Greek System. Not to mention on the weekends the campus is extermely dead so it is the only means of activities. Drinking and drugs are done heavily.
