I wish that I knew not to underestimate the classes and financial aid. I wish I knew that financial aid isn't always free. I wish I knew about the academic probation system and how it works. I wish I could've told myself to focus and go to class everyday no matter how boring the courses are.

I wished I had know that most of the classrooms would have at least 200 students with only one professor.

The things that I would have wished I knen before I came to SDSU is how helpful the advisors are.

I wish that someone could have put me in contact with my counselor for my major. When you e-mail or call the school to find information about your intended major a counselor who only knows of general education requirements will respond. They aren't very helpful at all, especially if you live out of state. I just wishit was easier to get in contact with someone who knew more about my major before I transfered in.

I wish I knew more about ethnic soroirties and fraternities at state, as well as more about the majors and how finding classes would be. Sometimes it is very difficult to get the classes you need, because it is so impacted and you have to readjust your schedule. And I feel more diverse greek orgs could add more fun and excitement to the campus.

I wish I had known how to actually study, which methods work best for me and how to prepare for college level tests. I wish I had known how to balance my time and prioritize and schedule myself.

That I would have to join a fraternity to have any hope of doing anything socially on weekends.

Although I was warned about how difficult it is to adjust to a life without rules and parents, I wish I had taken heed to this advice much more seriously than I did. Although I did well in all of my courses, I know I could have done better than I did and with this new knowledge, I will be going into my sophomore year much more prepared and ready to learn. I wish someone would have told me how friendly the students,faculty and teachers are at this school. Everyone helps each other succeed, no one wants to see you fail here and they try everything they can to make sure it doesn't happen.

Before coming to San Diego State University I wish I would have known how important it is to build your networking and learning how to build those connections in order to have more resources. I wish I learned more skills about reaching out to build connections.

I wish I had known the sizes of the classes were quite large and smaller classes would be limited until you got to your major classes. I also wish I had known what I wanted my major to be before going to college so I would be prepared from the start.

About all the programs available for my career. I learned once I came to school about the great Computer Science program and all the benefits and resources they offer.

I wish I had known how tough college really is. I wasn't prepared and college isn't easy; it's about growing up and doing things on your own.

If I could have known more about one thing before attending SDSU, I wish I would have had a better understanding of personal integrity and character. One quality that I lacked in my undergraduate level was a true understanding of what's important in life to become a genuinely good person. In my learned experience, a person's character is more important than any other aspect of one's personality. As an undergraduate, I was nieve to its importance. As Wooden would say, "the true test of a man's character is what he does when no one is watching".

I wish I had known about all the help and extra resources that are offered at San Diego State such as workshops, tutoring, and outisde classes for relevant help. Everyday learn about something knew that is offered at school, and most of it is free.

I wish I had known how important your GPA is in college and how critical your first two years in college is as far as setting the groundwork for your GPA.

I wish i had knew the strict requirement for each major before i came. The requirement help me stay on top of everything and never want to be left behind in anything.

"Network" in moderation. Don't let the semester go by without introducing yourself to your instructors. It could mean the difference in getting a B+ or A-.

I wish that I would have learned better study habits in high school. I wish that I would have known more about the food plans here because they suck, and I would have rather not had one at all. I wish I would have known that having an 8:00 class in high school is a lot easier than having 8:00 classes in college.

San Diego State has a great social atmosphere, but it's important to discipline yourself to not get too carried away and to remember to balance your social life with your academic studies.

Aside from the dorm thing, overall this school is pretty fun. The greek system is really big here, and most of the members of the greek system are either completely vacant or seem like their still in high school. If your a girl you will have a lot of fun here, but if your a guy and want to party here the only real way to do it in your freshman year is to join a greek orginization.

There is nothing that I wish I had known

I wish I would have known more about which meal plan would be ideal for a student instead of having to guess which one would best suit me. I also wish I would have known a little more about the clubs and organizations that they offer here. I also would have like to known how it works if you want to take a class through the aquaplex such as a surfing class. I also would have found it a little more helpful if I knew how far things were from the school, seeing as you need a car.

I wish I had known more about the different types of housing. I lived in the Cuicacalli suites, which were not very social compared to the other living choices. Had I known this, I might have chosen to live in the regular dorms like Zura.

Even though it seems like everyone is in a sorority/fraternity, it is completely possible to have fun when not being in one. You just have to try hard to get involved with other groups, such as the surfing club.

Before I arrived to San Diego State University I wish I would have known the rigorous schedule, teachers, and time limit. I wish I would have known that in college no one reminds you when to do your homework or even when it?s due. I wish I would have known that one must keep track of their own classes by being neat and organized. College reminded me of my AP English class I took in High School; this is why it wasn?t all that tough to get used to.

I wish I had known before going to SDSU that most of the social activities in the school are ran by fraternities and soroties. In the past I expected to go to every party out there, but only came to realize that most of these great parties were excluded to those non-fraternity members. Don't get me wrong, there are many parties out there that non-fraternity members can attend to, but only if one knows where to look.

That greek life is really big and if you are a guy you do not get into parties unless you know 2 people and have 5 girls with you. I think I am going to rush because it is hard to party in the dorms and only upper classmen have houses off campus.

I wish I would have known how good of a job the university does at making new students feel welcomed. It would have saved me a little bit of stress.

I wish I would have know and researched more about financial aids and government grants. I also wish I would have known tuition prices were to raise by nearly a third.

I wish I understood more about college life and the opportunities it presents. Such as on campus organizations and study abroad opportunities. SDSU has a great study abroad department and is working harder to help students study abroad.

There was a lot of emphasis placed on being in a fraternity and that the academics weren't very highly thought of.

How hard a major university would be. From picking classes to making friends it was really hard the first semester.

I wish I would have known how much of a negative impact the greek system had on this campus before I got here. Everyone knows SDSU to be a party school, but the Fraternities and Sororities escalate it to an unhealthy level with the binging of alcohol and drugs, which really gives the school a bad reputation, and attracts the wrong type of students. Had I been more aware of this before, I might have more strongly considered going to another university.

I researched everything for this school prior my admission..it totally met my expectations, I am proud to be a student there.

How much there is to do and the importance of staying academically focused.

That te living situation is very expensive

Impact/significance of Greek life on campus. Rate of crime in campus neighborhoods. Cost of living off campus. Internship opportunities in the area/job opportunities in area after graduation. Attitudes/lifestyles of students in general (most people not concerned with careers, etc...mostly living for the moment). Difficulty of classes was high.

TIME MANAGEMENT!!!!!

How many extra classes are needed to graduate. Too many GE's are required and its overwhelming to graduate in 4 years.

I wish I would have known how big the sorority and fraternity life is on campus, I feel like if you're not a part of it then you are out of the social scene.

I wish I knew that the Greek system would be so strong, otherwise I may not have considered this school. There seems to be too much pressure in joining it, that it can stress you out.

How close and how much better it is to live at the beach and commute to school rather than live in campus area. Also how good and underrated our men's basketball program is.
