The San Francisco Conservatory of Music is a good college for people pursuing a professional degree in music. It has many courses designed to train musicians in all of the aspects of becoming a professional. The professors are accessible and have regular office hours. They answer questions and help students who need it. The professors are specialized in specific musical skills for different courses. There are instrument teachers, musicianship/theory teachers, music history teachers, ect. The only downside is that the school has major drug and alcohol problems at the dorms. You must do what makes you happy. I've learned from others that if you commit to something you feel half-hearted about, you will drop out at some point. As human beings, we long for happiness if we know we can obtain it. In high school, I felt blinded by just getting through it and graduating. With the knowlege of going to San Francisco Conservatory of Music, I concentrated on my application and was determined to recieve a good scholarship.
Very slim...
I think that this is a music school for talanted musicians and composers. Only people who love music and want to be musicians must attend this school. One has to work hard and never give up.
Music has been around for many centuries and the concepts haven't change. Ultimately, music is related to math and theory. When we hear the amazing music, we don't think about the concepts and chords coming from the instument. Only a real musician will take his/her time to understand thier own instrument with the knowlege that music is produced by how well a person understands and feels the music. It takes a lot of hard work and there are no short-cuts. One must be passionate about art because music is the strongest from of art.
