2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

   My first year of college I attended UC Santa Barbara, which is 136 miles from Santa Ana. I learned the hard way that I need to live near my support system. I didn’t know how much my family and friends motivated me to succeed until they weren’t there. If I were able to speak with my high school senior self, I would tell myself to attend CSU Fullerton. I would share how difficult it was to do school my first year when my father was diagnosed and operated for brain tumors. The most important thing I would share would be that it is okay to fail. Hearing from myself that I am only human and I am allowed to be imperfect and that failing is normal and part of growing up. It would have taken a huge amount of pressure that I have felt all my life. To be “human” is the thing I would want my senior self to remember out of everything. I would also tell myself that the transition will be hard, but remember that Fullerton is right next to Santa Ana so help is only a few minutes away.

5. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

   Santa Ana College is best known for their helpful staff, having low budgets for classes, and having many different options for financial aid. They also have a nice campus and are constantly remodeling to make the school a better facility. They have a variety of majors and classes to meet any students' needs.

6. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

   How far it is from where i live I have to either take 2 to 3 buses to get thier or drive anywhere between 35 to 50 minutes to get there! and then still try to stay awake and pay attention. also the sheer cost of the books the bookstore at my school sells the books for compared to what thier buy back value is.

7. What's unique about your campus?

   Since I am a business major, I like to be assured that my professors know and have experience what they teach. I was glad that most of my professors still work in their field and teach students what knowledge they aquired through experience and what they are learning along the way. I also love that they put real life scenerios for the students to examine and work on using their own critical thinking skills. I believe this school has prepared me the best for my major!

8. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

   The worst thing about my school is the low transfer rate, I believe it is as a result of the lack of motivation a lot of the students have. Out of all my friends who I graduated high school with, I am one of the few who is still working on transferring to a 4-year. I think a lot of the students end up losing hope from being the first person to go to college. They end up failing classes and seeing their chances of transferring or even graduating being postponed, but I believe they will reach their goal.

11. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

    One thing I would and do brag about with my friends are about the classes. The classes always have space and they don't get full very quickly so you have a chance to get the class you need. It has many resources that you can use for studying, finalcial needs, counseling and so much more.

12. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

    This school offers help to everyone including students with disabilities. I have never seen a school push itself and its staff help students with disabilities. It sometimes seems like the school assigns certain staff members to help a certain student succeed in school. There seems to be a lot of one on one between student and staff member. There's also lots of tutoring and lots of professors are willing to stay after class, set up meetings, help on their spare time, just so a student can succeed. I have not seen this kind of help in a school before.
