It’s an alright school. They take forever to respond.I have tried getting in contact with office people and they respond late or don’t respond at all. They have a terrible attitude when trying to communicate decently. They are not thorough enough through email when asking questions.

It is a good school if you want to get your classes and are there to learn. I have not had an issue getting the classes I want since they partner with Santa Ana College and I can take classes at either. My professors care and most are pretty good about getting back to me if I have a question. As a working student looking forward to going to university after, I don't take part much in the social activities that they may offer. I like the environment on campus and have felt safe when I am there.

This campus provides a lot of oppertunity, but it is up to you to pursue it. Because it is a community college it ranges when it comes to people and their motivation. Motivated people are easy to find if you get involved with clubs on campus. Professors are absolutely outstanding! Just be sure to use ratemyprofessor.com to make sure you get the best one possible.

SCC is a great school, but needs to help some of their professors become more engaged with their students. There seems to be a disconnect there. Also, SCC needs to work on helping their transfer students be more readily prepared for the transition process.

Santiago Canyon College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Santiago Canyon College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Santiago Canyon College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell myself to not get discouraged by others. I was not as fortunate as other students who got support from their parents and teachers. Throughout my high school career I was told that I would not even make it out of high school. I have always struggled with school, but I feel that if I had received the help and support I needed I would have been more successful. I decided to go to a community college straight out of high school because I was not presented with more options. My high school math teacher told me I was "not going to go anywhere" with my life, my counselor refused to let me retake my Algebra 2 course because according to her "you're going to community college, you won't need it". Even my mother discouraged me from applying to the Cal State system; saying "you're not going to get in anyway". I found out the hard way that everyone was wrong. I am working hard towards my career goals and I am doing my best to prove them wrong. I can succeed if I set my mind to it.

I wish I would have known how the weather was going to be at that college before i decided to enroll. When it is hot it is extrememly hot at school. Summer school was a drag! It gets way to hot! I am a little more use to it now.

  7. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

I really like that the campus is small. It is currently expanding but that is a good thing because future students will be able to take advantage of new facilities and more class offerings. Because it is a small school, we get smaller class sizes compared to other schools. The teachers are really helpful and are easily accessible during their office hours.

  8. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing I consider about my school is that it is a really small campus. I do not like that it is a small campus because they dont have as many classes as other community college's have. It is also a bad thing because I like to me surrounded by a lot more people and have the real college feeling, sometimes it just feels like I am back in High School. It is the challenging classes and short schedules that hit me back into reality and remind me that I am a college student.
