My college is in a great location with everything around it. Also, it's a mjor part of the Atlanta community so it contributes to many events.
It is an art university. Most people assume art universities don't offer 4 year programs or general education. SCAD only offers 4 + year programs and general education is required. Attendance is mandatory. Most assignments are hands on projects, and in major courses, late work is rarely accepted. Its art and design programs are ranked top in the nation. I am an interior design student, and our undergrad program is currently number 2 in the country. It is culturally diverse, with 10{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} international students and has 2 campuses in other countries: France and China.
Our school offers small, intimate classes were as most universities/colleges only offer large lecture-based classes. SCAD offers majors which many othet art schools in the US do not (Sequential Art for example). We are a career-oriented art school that gives as many opportunities as possible for students to succeed in the future.
Don't go to SCAD if you're looking to have fun with big groups of people and have a typical college experience. Or if you're middle class and below. If you just want to get high with two other people then go for it. Or if you want to eat out all the time with your rich friends, and fly home on the weekends.
SCAD is the Wal Mart of Colleges.
The best choice I could have made. Even the people in the offices who don't teach are nice and seem to care. Its a great place. It has problems like every other place but it is the right place for me.
The school is a historically rich location that is very conducive to the artistic flow, that is necessary to have in every day life at SCAD.
The campus is spread throughout the city so you really get to soak in the culture. The professors have actual experience in their fields and dont just teach right out of college. You get so much face to face time with your professors and they really do have state of the art facilities. The administration is also alot more helpful than those at other schools I considered.
Savannah College of Art and Design is a school that helps build standing foundations in art and prepares for an art career. A vast majority are hired for careers almost as soon as they graduate and a lot of these companies are quite well known, such as Pixar and Marvel. SCAD really is all about being prepared for the industry.
Savannah College of Art and Design offers a wide verity of activities on and off campus. I currently attend the Atlanta campus and love the city life! There is always so much schoolwork to do that I am always on campus. Whether it is working as a student higher on the Photography floor or doing my own work for school.
I attend the Savannah College of Art and Design, one of the most well known art schools in the world. My school has a 80{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} job placement rate in a field which is relatively difficult to get into. My school encourages students to master both the creative and business end of the art world which is why I chose this school above all other schools.
The teachers at SCAD are more involved. There are not many people in a class so the teacher gets to know his or her students betters. I learn so much at theis school then i think i would at any other college because of how much the teachers are involved.
My school is the number one art school in the south, and some consider it the number one in the nation because it doesnt just want to create good artist, they also want to create succesfull ones, which is a big reason why i choose it
Once I visited my school I didn't consider any other school. My school is one of the top art schools in the country. It has a very competitive fashion program. It's in beautiful Savannah, Ga. The beach is nearby. I love it there. Professors are great, Classes are hard but it prepares you for working in the real world.
I came to SCAD particaularly because other schools with photography didn't offer as much SCAD does. Such as learning color photography, because color photo chemicals are very dangerous. And again, you use top the line equipment, we just got a new 40,000 epson printer.
It is a completely creative environment! both the city and the school!
the student body at SCAD is one of the most diverse and yet accepting groups of students i have ever encoutered, and the college itself is intesly focused on practical learning, real-world applications, and job placement. also, the class sizes are the perfect size to allow for adequate personal attention.
Its a full fledged art school not just a school with an art program.
Great location in the historic south, excellent computer labs / studios / equipment, and faculty members that are well-known in their fields.
It's an art school. It's also the type of school that people from all over go to. It's not a school that mostly local people go to.
The unbeliveable access to amazing equipment and technology and the curriculum is designed to prepare students for the real world.
Except for the Price Tag, I would never go anywhere else for what my interests were. They are awesomly openminded and you learn from the best and how to do the best.
It is an art and design school so we are like one big family.
SCAD focuses on the commercial aspect of art. It is very useful if one wants to make a living doing art.
It is so amazingly diverse. I've made friends from Jamaica, Brazil, Bermuda and the Ivory Coast. It is a wonderful evironment and is very laid back, which bodes well for students considering the workload we recieve. I know of students that go out every night to go party, but I wouldn't say my school is a party college. Our Student Association along with other clubs does their best to keep the student body busy with festivals, theatre performances, dances and everything in between.
It's an art school, so I was allowed to take art based gen-eds instead of math, science, etc.
Savannah College of Art and Design is an art school, which makes for a very diverse atmosphere. Everyone is an individual, and everyone is accepted. You don't have to dress a certain way or have a certain income in order to fit in. As a matter of face, diversity and unusualness are highly encouraged. Free thinking and expressing differing feelings and beliefs are also highly encouraged. It is a good environment for students who feel out of place in "normal" society, where many of these things are looked down upon or considered "weird" or "odd."
