What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Daryl

My advice to first yr. parents and freshmans, know that first you want to get the best education possible and try to know what you wanna do in advance but its ok if you change your mind due to you seeing something else interesting. Go and meet new people, network with others, because the ones you meet here in college will possibly be long-life friends and/or co-workers that might be able to help you find a great position in your field of study. But most of all, have fun and live life, not to much though. Make sure you be safe and know your sorruondings first before doing things but have fun because its the last and best long lived experience you will ever have before going into the work force and becoming a responsible adult in the process. Get that education! "Skys the limit"

For parents trying to find the right college for their children, I feel that they should look at the accredition, graduation rate, and activites that are available on campus. Students should get involved in organizations (at least one involving his/her major), get to know as many people as possible on campus ( including faculty, students, staff, coaches), and stay focus on why you came to school (to better yourself, family, and the future).

To do as much research as you can to find the right school for you and also take a campus tour. Apply for scholarships and look at other methods of financial aid to assist with paying tuition. Be involved in extracurricular activities to make the most of your college experience. Lastly, take advantage of all career opportunities and leadership development to assist you with life after college.
